Posting Photos

This site isn't the best for posting photos, but it can be done. You've passed the first gate. I see you have an album here. Posting to that album isn't too hard. No more than 5 photos at a time. I do most all my posting from my laptop. Although I think I have posted from my iPhone once or twice. First thing is go to your photo album, and click on the right upper box, album actions. That will bring up a box to link to your photos. Choose your photos and hit upload now. More than likely you will get a message saying your browser blocked a popup. (I think the iPhones and iPads will need their settings changed to allow popups before you even attempt to upload from them.) Allow the popup and wait for the photo to upload. Now, if you want to post it to a thread, such as this, click on the picture in your C-Brats album you want to upload here. Click on that photo again and it will enlarge. Now right click and choose copy image link.

Use the Img box above, click on it once to get
.
Walah.

Look familiar? 8)

Just wanted to add to the above.... depending on the browser or operating system, the right click on the image in the album may have several choices. For instance on Firefox/Linux, right clicking on the image and selecting "copy link" will copy and then paste the text below.

http://www.c-brats.com/modules.php?full=1&set_albumName=album3524&id=IMG_0847&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_photo.php

Note the .php at the end of the copied text. This will not work.

Make sure the copied text ends in ".jpeg" as the copied and pasted text below does. This was copied again in Firefox/Linux by selecting "copy Image link" instead of "copy link", but your browser/operating system may have different choices for the right-click choices.

Framing this text in the "
tags will then work correctly.

By the way, the Preview Button in the Post a reply editor is your friend!

Hope this helps,
Chris

Hi Chris,
Thanks, I am not aware of the items you're discussing. Sorrowfully I live in the land of drag and drop. But it was encouraging to hear from you both and Colby's instructions were enough for me to get some more photos posted to my album. Still not sure how to grab them and post them to a comment. So the photos are of little use.
This site and its members owe me nothing as I've learned so much. Not having photos is a small price to pay.
Thanks

Ok, so you've gotten that far. I'm using Firefox for what it's worth. So now go to your photo album and open up your photos. If you click again on your open photo, depending on the file size, it will enlarge. The first view is somewhat of a preview, and if you click on it again, it'll open up in full force. (You only have to do that once. If you scroll through your photos, the rest will follow the larger format.) Now that you have the photo up, right click on it. I click on copy image link. Now, come back here to the thread and hit the Img Button. Paste your image photo, which I just copied your next photo: http://www.c-brats.com/albums/album3524/IMG_0860.jpeg. And hit the Img button again. The first time you hit Img, it will be in boxes. The second time, it will have the / in front of it.

So here it is:

Now, many times I get lazy and just post the url. I have embedded albums (if you really want to be confused, that would be a much longer lesson, lol) so sometimes if I have an entire album to show, I'll just copy and paste the URL and either use the URL boxes you see above, or I'll just post the URL by itself. Either you can click on and it'll take you there. As an example, if you click on just your photo link above, it'll take you to the photo anyway. (And if you do that with only one photo, you'll probably end up with me, Bob, or any one of several other C-Brats that will end up posting it in the thread for you. 8) BTW, the URL is the address in your address bar. :) Ok, I lied...lol. If you click on that link by itself above, it takes you to an error message. What I meant to say was, copy and paste the address URL (the main website url). Such as: http://www.c-brats.com/modules.php?full ... _photo.php

Now I don't really know what difference it makes to use the URL box from the tiny link boxes above, as here is the same URL in between those boxes....

http://www.c-brats.com/modules.php?...ame=gallery&file=index&include=view_photo.php

Either way, it'll take you to the page with your photo(s).

Somehow, you got the IMG link in the wrong locations. You can see that in your post above.

You have to have the
, behind the link.

IMG_0860.thumb.jpeg

Also, this would be the preview I mentioned earlier. If you click on that photo while you have it up, it will enlarge, and then when you bring that link forward, you'll get the full size photo. (You can even see in your link the word "thumb".)

I see as Chris said that the link ends in php and not jpeg

Well clicking on Img does nothing.[/url] Really handsome dog though. American Rare Breed: McNab Cattledog, A California Breed. The Pile of rocks behind him on the Lakebottom, of Spruce run lake, is the remains of an old kiln that was reported to have been used by Washington to make cannonballs.
I've got several hours into this so I don't mind waiting on a video, providing you're willing to put one together.

It would help if you told us what browser you are using because even though they all have the same functions the names for the functions can be different. Doing it from a phone or tablet is different yet.

Hm, gotta run for now. But I'll see if I can do something with my iPad then.

In the mean time, here is that link again for inserting photos with a laptop and Firefox.

On a Mac with Safari:

Find the pic you want in your album and left click it to bring it up to size. Then right click on the picture and choose Copy Image Address from the list that comes up. The correctly formatted image link will then be in your clipboard.

Reply to the thread you want to post the picture in and paste the link from your clipboard into the text box. Highlight the entire link that pastes and then click the Img button above the text box. That puts the Img tags in the proper place and format.

That's it. Now click the preview button below the text box and see if it worked before posting.

This:

Code:
[img]http://www.c-brats.com/albums/album3524/IMG_0847.sized.jpeg[/img]

Gets you this:
