Nothing like being elected when you were not even running...

Hey Mark, You're right. And you are welcome to impeach me at any point. (Emoticon for Praying hands goes here.)

But, we have a great group here and it works well as a team effort.

FYI for those who sign up and then want to check and see if they are on the "official" list. Here's how to check:

The signup page lists " (User name)hardee, (number of posts) some, and (City/Region) Sequim"

Anyone can look at that list. Just click on the "Event signup" button and then on the "view information" box to the right of "05/14 to 05/17 Friday Harbor CBGT". Should take you right there.

The other info* I will have to put together on a seperate page. That will be:
1. Skipper's name
2. Total number on board
3. Vessel length
4. Vessel Safety Inspection (put VIS Yes) if you want one. It is voluntary and no cost.
5. Planned arrival date
6. Planned departure date
7. I am volunteering for ______________.
* This is new information that the "new" FH Cruise Coordinator is asking for this year.

I still have the information from last year in regards to different areas that people signed up for. Is there a way for me to put that on as an attachment or should I just put it in one of the threadlines?

I am willing to coordinate who helps cover a particular task.[/i]

Reef Madness is planning on attending the FHCBGT. We plan to launch Bellingham, Monday May 11th. We will be in Friday Harbor, Thursday, Friday, Saturday night. We will have 2 adults and 1 Golden Retriever on our Tom Cat 255. Would like power and water.

We would like to have an informal potluck Friday night for anyone who would like to join us. We understand that Friday is typically dinner at a restaurant or on your own. We prefer to stay on the dock and mingle with other brats. For those who would like to have dinner on the dock, we plan to bring pulled pork sliders, coleslaw and perhaps a pot of beans. We will make enough for all. Plates, napkins and utensils will be provided. I know many will just be arriving and may not be able to share a dish. That’s fine. Just BYOB. It’s my understanding that we will have the party barge on Friday as well as Saturday. If the barge isn’t being used for another activity maybe we can set up on the barge. Please let us know if this is something you would like to do.
A head count will be most helpful.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Margaret, Gene and Docker

Gene, I'm looking forward to seeing you and at least one other respondent just asked about TomCats so I'm pretty sure he is too.

Thanks for the offer on the Friday evening "potluck". I'm pretty sure there would be some other takers there as well. Thnx for signing up on the event list.

I saw you are launching from Bellingham early. If you are wandering the islands and see a fleet of C-Dorys, you are welcome to join us. There is a thread, (Pre Friday Harbor CBGT Cruise) and a group leaving from Coronet Bay / Deception Pass State Park Monday morning, early, for a group cruise prior to FHCBGT that will arrive at FG on Thursday. Again, you are welcome if you wish.

Harvey;

We plan on a short (1 1/2 to 2 week) cruise after the gettogether. We will do the Gulf Is' and probably Octopus Bay to the north, Cortez Is and Desolation sound. If anyone would like to tag along you're welcome.

Gene,

Thank you for that offer. I know there will be a scattering of the Brats after the FH-CBGT and I'm sure some will go north. Personnally I will be out for about a week after, somewhere in the area, no concrete plans for the destination yet. Look forward to time on the water, for sure.

There are also live cams for Roche Harbor, Rosario, East Sound, and Orcas Landing.

Thanks Steve for posting the FH Ferry Web Cam link. Looked over the Marina this morning on it and it makes me excited to know we will be there again at the start of the boating season for us in May! It is great to see the Harbor again in a live video.

A Friday Harbor fix. Steve, I like that. I needed one a few weeks ago so I walked on the FH ferry to hang out with Popeye and various aviary critters. Not many people on that very windy, cloudy day. But Friday's fun any time of year. Jeff and Diane, happy you can come again this year. Jeff will be freshly retired, and a brand new fella. Gene and Margaret! Are you kidding? You're coming Thursday, and firing up a solo potluck Friday? You'll have company, I'd imagine, including me. It'll be great to see you two, and Docker makes three.

Harvey, thank you for what you've done so far to get this ship pointed in the right direction. We all appreciate your communication and coordination. Gosh, when the polls closed and the results came in, you'd received twice as many votes as the next guy. And he spent thrice as much as you. But this will come together just fine, if loosely. Most importantly, we've got the slips reserved, people are signing up and pitching in, and bringing their enthusiasm and participation.

Susan and I visited last week and meet friends for launch. We took the ferry over and drove the island after staying the night. We had not traveled by any thing other then boat in the San Juans in 10 years at least. It was different and a lot of fun.

Brock. I must have been running . . . . the wrong direction

Glad we are having some Brats checking out the Friday Harbor pre CBGT. Since I'm not the guy to eat out much, maybe some good eatery recommends would be in order for those who are headed that way.

Things look to be shaping up. We are getting close, 3 months to go, and still some things to get done.

Vessel Safety inspection coordination for instance, if anyone is interested.

What is that saying? "Ask and you shall receive" Well I just mentioned that VSI thing and I got a message from Teddy, from the Friday Harbor Power Squadron, with an offer to check our boats again this year. I already replied with the dates, so, unless I hear different from him, we will have Vessel Safety Inspections again on both Friday and Saturday. For now I will be leaving the times up to them. But you will be able to get yours done there, Free, no charge and no hassle, and convenient.

You do not need to contact him individually but I am putting this info here for future reference.

Awesome, thanks! I will want a VSI again this year. I learned so much last year. Was pretty prepared, but found out my flares had expired and first aid kit wasn't quite up to snuff. :sad
