pre purchase survey

does anyone know of a boat surveyor around smith mountain lake Virginia?
I'm having a really hard time locating one.
I've made a list of all marinas and marine services facilities around the area and will cold call them to see if they can recommend someone.
Any leads to a surveyor in the area ( OR a local honda-savvy mechanic)
would be greatly appreciated.
 
I bought my CD22 from a broker in Deal, MD last October 2018.

I had a full survey done of the CD by: GB Marine Services.

Marine Surveyors and Appraisers Loss Adjusters

I'll say that they covered all the bases of a typical marine survey, but they completely ignored stuff like all the black mold growing all over the boat, and that the old bad gas in the tanks had a direct affect on the performance of the Honda BP90 four stroke.

You should budget $500+ mileage to your location for the cost.

marine surveyors are paid in advance.

by someone at a marina near where the boat I am interested in is and they seem very comprehensive.
I was really scrambling today juggling a large outdoor sculpture installation (my job) and calling around getting nowhere with locating a surveyor before August!!
 
Dave Bradley from coast2coast doesn't charge for travel (he has an office on the coast and nearby)
and takes check, cash or credit card on the spot... or can invoice. he's charging me $506
