Promariner Battery Charger

Am still looking for advice on the feasibly of making my own 10 ft extensions for a new on board dual 8 amp battery charger I recently purchased. The manual says buy their own brand 15' extensions @ $30.00 each. I am thinking I can make my own custom length extensions for a lot less than $60.00. Please advise.

I have a Dual Promariner charger on my boat and it has "custom made" cables that I believe the first owner must have made, three years ago. I have owned the boat for almost two years and haven't had any problems with the charger. seems to work just fine. The additional length wire is the same gage as the original and the splice has been covered with a heat shrink tube. Good Luck

Hello C-Dorius;
Thanks for the reply; I just needed some reassurance to proceed as you have suggested, same gauge wire, good spices, moisture proof connections and an inline fuse. Also nice to know you have a Promariner.
Cheers!

I have a Guest charger on my boat, and I also had to extend the length of the leads. If memory serves, I soldered my connections, ensuring that I had a very good seal with shrink wrap and good quality electrical tape. No issues.
