Propane grill setup.

Hi all we joined the group a while back. Just starting to reconnect. Curious who has a grill on their boat and wondering about gas tank vents and grill locations. Our boat is a venture23'. I think I'm going to mount the grill off the bow sprit/ rail. Pics of other safe grill mounts would be helpful. Thanks Mark.

I built a platform in the motor well for my Magma gas grill that can hold the Honda Generator when not using the grill.

Now I put the grill when I am cooking, on a wood box that is storage for my aft anchor. I don't worry about gas tank fumes with an open flame because the vents are outside of the hull unlike portable gas tanks.

This is no different than using an open flame Butane/ Propane stove. Mount the grill anywhere you want in the cockpit.

The 23 Venture I recently bought has a mount for a Magma grill on the cockpit gunnel. I don't have a picture handy as the boat is at the shop right now, but I can get one later.

I would love to see a picture if you get a chance to. Post one.

I installed a Scotty rod holder receptacle on the forward part of the cockpit gunnel (gunwale?). Scotty also sells a pin for mounting on just about anything, to fit the receptacle. I bolted this pin mount to the bottom of my Sea-B-Que bracket.

I had Scotty rod holder mounts on the gunnels already, but they were towards the aft and too close to the fuel tank vents for my comfort to use for the grill. For the same reason, I did not want to mount the grill on the aft part of the cockpit.

The mount also allows for two rods to be used on the port side, if I ever want double rods on one downrigger when fishing.
