Radar Arch Manufacturers

Hope someone can help, I've been looking thru the archives for the last hour and can't find what I'm looking for.

I'm trying to find someone who manufacturers radar arches in the Seattle area. I remember reading a post about a shop that has or does make them for the factory and is already familiar with most C-Dory measurements.

I'm familiar with Bolton in Vernon, B.C. the shop I'm looking for was somewhere around Seattle though.

Anyone....????

John S,
I think this might be who you were looking for?

Brooks Marine Fabrication (Steph Brooks)
903 33rd St. P.0. Box 1262
Anacortes , WA 98221
Ph/Fax 360-299-2956 or 800-723-0401

I know they have made interior grab rails for people and I believe they have also made radar arches.

Here's a link to the thread talking about the factory arch along with the one from Brooks and another fabricator, Precision Marine. Not sure how to make this a nice neat link, mabye somebody can fix that.

John,
Another place that might be worth a call is: Railmakers, in Everett WA (425) 259-9236. They have a design for a CD25 stern rail that I had added to my boat. I assume they probably do radar arches as well.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll be at the Seattle Boat Show Monday and Tuesday and see if any of these guys are there, I'll start following up with phone calls from there.

Thanks,
John

Thought I'd share an update with anyone interested. I shopped the boat show and called some of the manufacturers listed above.

The last call I made was to Bolton Stainless in Vernon, BC. 250-545-6226
They make the factory installed handrails on the C-Dorys and the radar arches on the Harbercraft Kingfishers. I talked to Tom at Bolton, real friendly guy. He was real helpful, he told me he even cruises the C-Brats website sometimes. He gave me a rough estmate of price when I gave him the measurements. He requested a couple days to give me a final price. Two days later he e-mailed me with a price almost $200 less than his initial estimate!!

He asked for 2-3 weeks to build it. It is underway now and he didn't even make me put any money down.

I am having them build a tall radar arch to fit my new v-bottomed dinghy under. 3 mounting pads on the top for equipment. 4 rod mounts (8 total) running down each of the two side supports.

The final price quoted was more than half off what a local unnamed dealer in Anchorage was going to make me pay and a fraction of some of the prices quoted around the Seattle area.

I'll update on the quality of the radar arch once I have it in my hands, but I have not doubt it will look great.

I appreciate all the help here. I originally read about Bolton doing searches on the C-Brats site.

I had a tall radar arch made for Coho by Railmakers in Everett and they did a great job! :D They know C-Dorys and can make an arch for any of the different hulls. If I remember correctly, the arch was about $450 and shipping to Alaska was about $50 by Lynden Transport. From placing the order to receipt of arch was about 3 weeks. Very good service. :thup I highly recommend Railmakers. :beer

I also used Railmakers in Everett for my Radar arch / Rocket Launchers. I was very happy with the results, and the owner is pretty laid back and very easy to work with. Now I just have to save my pennies for a Radar for my arch :D

Thomas,

Sorry I have not been on this site for a few days. Railmakers phone number in Everett is 425-259-9236. They are fairly laid back and easy to work with. I just checked their web site <www.railmakersnw.com> and it is not working too well this morning. Anyway, good luck with your project.
