Raising the helm seat.

HEY CHRIS,
I CHECKED OUT YOUR LAKE LINK, NOW THAT'S A LOT OF WATER!
SOMEDAY, WHEN LINDA AND I DECIDE TO PULL THE PLUG AT WORK, WE INTEND ON TRAVELING TO THE GREAT LAKES AND SPEND SOME RELAXING TIME ON THE WATER.
I TELL MY DAUGHTER, WHO WILL TAKE OVER THE BUSINESS, THAT DAY IS COMING AND IT WILL OCCUR SOMETIME BETWEEN TOMORROW AND THE NEXT FOUR YEARS.
WEATHER HAS TURNED UGLY IN CINCINNATI TODAY, CALLING FOR 14" OF NEW SNOW. NOT GOING BOATING TODAY!

Capt. Pat- If you ever make it to this end of the lake I can put you on some fish. The Apostle Islands are very nice also just for quiet beaches and lazy days. Its worth some consideration.

-2 out right now and dropping. The Lake is making ice..........again!

Stay warm :tea

Hi Brats,
All of this seat talk makes me wonder about variation among our boats. I'm 6feet2inches and have no trouble seeing forward, even when not on a plane. The trouble that I have is that there is little room between the seat and the wheel for my thighs. I'm not that fat, but I have to squeeze into/out of the seat. The seat pad is not so thick that getting a thin pad would help much, and I hate the thought of sawing off the cabinet top to lower the seat. C-Dory supplied an upgrade for the mate's seat, but I'm not sure it was an useful upgrade. They dispensed with the folding seat and provided two hefty cushions: one for the seat bottom, the other strapped around the folded dinette table leaf to provide the back (not so good, the leaf moves around as you sit, and when you open up the dinette table, the sliding seat really has no back support in the dining position, because you have to button the back cushion to the forward bulkhead.
Thanks,
Rod.

Rod-

It's easy to solve your helm fit problem with your seat, thighs, and steering wheel, just get a smaller diameter steering wheel.

The shaft diameter and fit is pretty much universal, but the wheel diameters vary from 11 to 15 inches or so.
