Thanks for posting Harvey. No matter what your beliefs are, it's a very moving event. Hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving, we'll deal with Christmas if we make it through that weekend!!

My senior year in a church operated high school, I got to sing in the choir, and we did a combined choir concert with about 400 voices in the Portland Memorial Coliseum, to an audience of about 18,000. Our final number, and my last act in the school choir was to the full Handle's Messiah. It was a thrill.

Joel, I sang too......probably scared the neighbors dogs.

Cool. Did a Promise Keepers gig on the Washington Square several years back... Man... all men singing with joy in the train tunnels was a damn moving experience too after it was all over and we were leaving the square. Loud and proud.

Have a Blessed Day.

Pensacola has many festivles--probably one every weekend in the two or 3 county area. We also have "Gallery Night" in the old down town area 4-5 times a year. The last one was last Friday night. The usual several dozen small musical groups and solo instrumentalists were present.

There was a Teen "Freeze" for over 5 minutes in the middle of the street with 50 plus high school students, organized by some Pensacola high schools students to bring attention to a service organization. About an hour later this was topped by a group of about 40 dancers doing a "flash Mob dance" in the middle of the street--of course speakers and music had been prearraanged. There were dancers from all ages of Teens to senior citizens, organized by several of the dance studios.

These spontaneous (organized) events bring life into a community!

I enjoyed the video; thanks!

Harvey,

Thanks for the link to that great music. It is that time of year again when singing happens.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.................. :)

Harvey,
I really enjoyed this and shared it with Carol. She immediately told others about it in the community choir that she and Jessica are a part of.

The 150 plus participants in the Arlington Community Choir will be singing the Messiah at the Arlington Byrnes Performing Arts Center on Sunday Dec. 12 from 2:30 to 4:00. The director is Jessica's former Vocal Jazz Group teacher. This is an annual event that is well attended by the community and is a good pause in the craziness of the holiday season.

We also watched several other related videos from the Random Acts of Culture. They make a person want to "hang out" at the malls. (Unfortunately, malls are not on my list of places I enjoy frequenting... ).
