Random Acts of Kindness - Assisting Others

Perhaps the assist would extend to those who are temporarily hit by the economic downturn. For instance, we would be pained to hear of a C-Brat who would be unable to send a kid (or help a grandkid) to attend college due to a job loss or some such. This might require the quiet helping hand from friends, through a central person, for a 'silent' loan to the person who needs a hand - and the return of the loan again through the central person back to the anonymous (from all but the central person) donors when times get better.
 
I saw a recent post from a north of the boarder Brat who mentioned loosing his job and needing to do some work on his boat, (Steering cables,) and possibly having to sell the boat due to the job loss and apparently forced early retirement. That has to be a hard decision, and I wished I could, do something to help there. Not being the mechanical type, not much to do there but would be willing to help any other way if possible.
