Have a Garmin chart plotter with all the maps and GPS.

Looking for a lower end fish finder that doesn't need to have all the bells and whistles but will work well enough to catch fish.

Fishing Table Rock Lake early next month if our outboard shows up before then.

Thanks for any advice/recommendations.

What chart plotter do you have you could just put a transducer on that.

Garmin GPSmap 741xs

It would require adding GCV™ 10 Scanning Sonar Module

GCV™ 10 Scanning Sonar Module

PART NUMBER 010-01156-02

$599.99

USD

Way beyond what a stand alone unit would cost.

Dual beam and dual frequency and clearview are built in just need a transducer should have a port on the back of it for sonar. Sideview requires the black box. Should be able to get a transducer for around $150. Cheapest way. Here's the link to the specs https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/11986 ... 2-01#specs

I have owned the Garmin 741sx and it is a great fish finder. My bundle came with the transducer. Check your manual and plug, it is possible that the GT 20 TM transducer which is only conventional sonar may work--at about $99. If not then the one with Down Scan and Chirp. Personally I would spring for the Down scan and Chirp--it is worth it. I use the down scan when surveying anchorages as well as fishing.
