Recommended Service Places

There has been some discussion of late regarding poor experiences at repair places. I wonder if we could start a list of places we recommend, sort of our own Angie's List(r). Thanks.

I was happy with Jacobsen's in Ballard. They're an authorized dealer/service provider for Yamaha, Johnson, and Evinrude outboards, as well as Volvo Penta, OMC, and Mercruiser stern drives.

I'm not so happy with Bombardier Recreational Products, but Jacobsen's was fine to deal with.

Just be aware that EQ is no longer doing C-Dory warranty work. PM me for details if interested. I am not comfortable with posting further details publicly.

They are doing an excellent job of refitting my TC, though.

As noted before--- I recommend Specialty Marine in Oxnard, CA.
Eric is a dealer for Honda and Suzuki.

Thanks! It is "The Doryman" from the Lunenburg Fisheries Musuem, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. I visited the museum one summer in the early '70s, when I was in between quarters as student at RIT in upstate NY.

Being a bit out of the way, out on the Olympic Peninsula, and with Yamaha twins still under warranty, and not the mechanically inclined type, I was looking for a place with a good local reputation. I think I'm being treated fairly and they seem knowledgable and helpful. Westside Marine, on Hiway 20 just up the hill out of Port Townsend. Haven't seen any other C-Dory's there but a couple of Skagit Orcas.
