The weather almost cancelled our 80 mile Red River Adventure from Shreveport to Natchitoches on Tuesday 3/6/2012 with high winds and storms later in the week. The south wind pounding us as we entered Lock #5 making it difficult to tie off.

Natchitoches, LA. is not accessable from the river so we hitched a ride with fishermen. This is a beautiful city well worth a visit.

Weather presuaded us to head home before the front moved.

Where will the next adventure be? There are many places to see in this different way.

I always wanted to run that stretch of the Red River when we lived in Shreveport, but didn't have the chance. We always enjoyed visiting Natchitoches, it is a charming old town. Your post brought back good memories of that area. Hope y'all are doing well.
