Have a 2004 22’Cruiser that I am thinking of have a refrigerator put installed in place of the ice box. Boat is in NC and refrigerators are on sale at Defender now. Anyone know the dimensions of the opening? HxWxD?

come on somebody has got to know this or where to find out? Of course you don't want to get it wrong do you. What fridge are you getting? I wonder if the freezer part is worth it, it takes up so much room. Cheers.....this probably means a new battery set up right? Or Solar ..is the costco Solar on sale now any good?

It seems to me that as long as the fridge is not bigger than the cabinet space itself, the size of the opening can be tailored to the size of the refrigerator that is installed. As I recall on my boat and seeing how the boats are made, they just cut a hole sized for the fridge that is being installed. The hole for my fridge looks like it was just cut with a saber saw or something similar. It is not precision cutting.

Control did not like salt water and parts impossible to find on this age.

I am replacing with a frig freezer portable. Like my Son’s ARB.
Can use in boat, RV and vehicle and get more use out of fixed boat one.

Just one solution. A good one not cheap either.

Thanks for the replies thus far, but my question: does anyone have the cut opening of the stock ice box on a 22’ cruiser, mine a 2004? Thanks for alternative refrigerator solutions but not considering. I have researched and decided this is the route I want to go.

Anybody know? HxWxD?

Perhaps a different way to go about it, would be to ask what model refrigerator people have in the 2004 (or close to that era) 22 under the helm seat?

Thought about that Bob, but most of the frig models from 2004 are no longer produced. Next time I go to NC I’ll measure it myself.

Thanks for your input.
