Replacement Lock for 16' C-Dory

Hi. Does anyone know a source for the small lock that goes on the folding hatch to the forward storage area on a 1991 16' C-Dory? I've checked Perko and Southco, and they don't seem to have a match. The upper part of the lock is 7/8" wide, goes through an 11/16" hole in the 3/4" thick teak ply, and the underside of the teak folding hatch has a 1 1/4" wide recess to allow a retaining nut which I don't have. I can send a photo. Any ideas on getting a duplicate or even the next best replacement is appreciated. Geoff.

Finally got around to replacing the lock on our C-Dory 16 forward compartment. As suggested, Home Depot has a good one. It's a brass "Mailbox Lock" S-4648C made by PLPCI, a Redlands, CA 92374 company. Bar code is 49793 94648. Under $7. I had to increase the depth of the larger underside hole with a hole saw, to get the threads to extend far enough for the locking nut to grab and tighten. Use the curved cam and position the lock so the square piece the cam connects to is further away from the fiberglass edge, rather than closer. Only other down side is you can't remove the key with the lock in the open position. So if you want to travel with the hatch unlocked, you either have to leave the key in, or let the lock's cam rest on top of the fiberglass edge where it locks, which causes some chatter. I put a squirt of oil in the key slot to slow the unavoidable corrosion of a saltwater environment.

Thanks for the follow up post, been wanting to replace mine as well...best guess is that I forgot to remove the key from the key ring when I sold the original Johnson 40 a couple of years ago!
