Rule in-line submersible pump

I have one, attached a plastic squeeze handle garden hose nozzle to it. Hard wired a plug in place of the alligator clips to attach to one of the pigtails off either my house or starter batteries in starboard laz. It works ok for cleaning fish and hosing off the deck; into its second year.
Never rinse out just squeeze the excess water out, roll up and store in one of the gunnel pockets; beats drilling a hole for a through hull or mounting a wash down pump.
The steam is nothing to write home about but does the job.
Works for me....
 
When we had our 22 we put a pump in and had running water at the sink and put in a T and plumb a water spigot outside in cockpit and use as a shower or washdown look up the Duck and you will see it .my cape cruiser came with it same setup as my 22 its an easy 1hr job good luck
 
I would wonder about the higher temperature having some effect on the pump. One thing to remember that this is an open impeller centrifical pump, and the amount of pressure generated will not be as much as either a sealed impeller or diaphragm pump. We use an older Jabsco diaphragm pump (also with battery clips). The pump is not submersiable, but it easily draws water up 4 feet and pushes a good stream on the output. With the open impeller submersiable pumps, the higher the head the pump has to push against, the lower the pressure and volume.
