Sea Angel life report

Sea Angel

New member
Hi all;
FYI -

Sea Angel's skipper had a heart attack on 2 June and is now home on the mend. It will be awhile before I try to get underway since there was some damage.

I don't know what the long term will call for. I do know what the power of prayer and the support of family and friends has ment to me. I'm also thankful that all this happened while at home and not out on the Ches. Bay.

As my heart heals and my endurance improves I will venture out more. Meantime the CD will have to stay in the barn at the marina. Now I know why I did all that work on her the week before.

May God bless all of you and your families.
:love

Sorrry to hear about the heart attack--and it obviously was serious since you were hospitalized for about a week.

However, that is not the end of productive life. With good rehab and perhaps some modification there is a very good probility that you will continue to do exactly what you want to do in life.

I had a major heart attack 20 years ago, and continued to boat, down hill ski travel etc. Marie has had a pacemaker for over 35 years and has sailed over 100,000 miles and done everything she wants.

The best of luck to you and we will think about you each day.

Hi Art,

I will be praying for your recovery. Isn't it amazing that even through trials as this, He give us things to be thankful for.

Art,

So sorry to hear of this. The boat can wait while you recover and will be a great incentive. We send our best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear of your heart trouble. With prayer and the right attitude, you should be back on the water soon.

Good luck and may God Bless you and your family.

Art,
Hope you have a speedy recovery, Sounds like you were fortunate to be home and close to medical help.
About a year ago I thought the boating in our life was done. All friends on this site gave a lot of hope and encouragement and low and behold they were right. Their prayers must have helped, cause not only did we get back to boating but we are doing it with a NEW BOAT.
Notice that most all C-Brat recover to go boating again. Must be a healthy life style.

Get well,
Darrel (captd)

Art, we are saddened by the news of your heart attack. We pray for your speedy recovery and many more enjoyable years ahead: with, of course, a goodly amount of time spent aboard your Sea Angel.

Cordially,

Kerry and Lisa

Art,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. As others have said ---- keep your faith, and stay positive and you'll be out on your Sea Angel before the summer is over !!

Art,

We wish you a speedy recovery and hope you can get back to enjoying your boat soon. I enjoyed your photo album especially your pictures of “both of your angels”. :smile

I was looking back at some of the events of this past year and noticed that this thread was open ended.

Here it is , 7 months later. I have followed all your encouragement by taking my meds, exercising and losing abt 37#s. I go to a fitness center 2-3 times each week and have improved in many areas.

As my deceased mother-in-law once told me," getting old is not for sissies." How right she was. As we get older and sometimes wizer, we overcome life's little challenges with more grace.

Well, here we go again. I'll be back in the hospital in 2 weeks for a followup to see why things are happening to my heart thingie. Isn't that sure a nice word, 'thingie'. It covers such a multitude of items.

My faith and the encouragement I feel from those in my life gives me hope. I guess when you read the 'Book', you know how the story will end and there is nothing to fear; it's just the journey.

I did experience a taste of a small journey last Tuesday. I put Sea Angel in the water after being dry for 2 months. We left the dock abt 1000 with 47degree temps., mild for this time of year for us. We had the Wallas on the whole time and was toasty warm and didn't notice how the temp had dropped, only the clouds moving in. We hit the dock abt 1400, just put the CD25 on the work rack to clean the salt off and to flush the engines when we had a snow flurry that lasted only 10 minutes. It was the first we've seen of this stuff in over a year. It sure was cold doing the cleanup in the 33degree temps, with the wind. This is what one of these small memories are made for, and to be cherished.

As this thread is a closed, this journey will only continued to another level.
May each of you that share this thread have a following sea and fair wind as you journey to your next port. May each of you share the same peace that I have received through my walk in faith. Thank you all again.

God bless you, Art, and here's to seeing you on the water. Hope recovery is good and also quick.

Post a picture when you're back on the water.
