"Sea Shift" Super Sized

Well, you know how those "trend setting" Californians are. They are always trying to get the women in their lives to go topless. :wink
Huh? Dana never wears a hat...

When she moves up here she will. She'll forget what sunglasses are but she'll love sitting in Da New Da Nag with that Wallas Heater fired up and a glass of wine! :wink

I just phoned the factory and the hull of the Super Sized "Sea Shift" is in the mold!!!!

Day 1 and counting........ :smilep

I see that Da Nag is up on a Northerly Island having "goodies" installed, and now the "SSSS" has just completed "day 2" in the factory.

Today, I finally posted some interior pix of the 16' Sea Shift in the photo album.

Today I drove down to the factory to check out the progress on SSSS, but no one could find her.
Come to find out that when I called last Thursday and was told that she was in the mold, it was not her but a cabernet colored not a bright red one instead.
What I did see today was the mold being readied for the start of production and I was told that they would start on her today.
I'll admit I was a bit disappointed, but am glad that it will ease the pressure on Les, so he's not tripping over too many boats up at EQ. This way he can concentrate on Da New Da Nag.
It was also nice to visit with some of the folks at the factory that I hadn't seen in a while and now they know that this next vessel heading to EQ will be the new "Sea Shift". :smile

Dave -

That's wonderful news!! I didn't want to tell you this, but all last week they were having bad days at the CD plant. You are so lucky that your boat is the next one up, because whatever was bugging them guys is all resolved now and they are on top of the game!

Actually, when I first went in to order the boat from Les, I didn't expect to get it until the March slot. So, I'm way ahead of the schedule that I expected.

Hey Dave,

Thanks! I'm getting a better play-by-play here than I can get anywhere else! :wink Keep posting so I can stay up with you!

By the way, SSSS and DNDN will likely sit side-by-side for a while in the shop; DNDN won't roll into the shop until after New Years and the list is long enough to keep her there until...er...um...ah...well, I'll shoot for the Lopez get-together for Opening Day. :disgust

Wade ("Captains Choice") called to inform me that he was at the factory today and took pictures of "Sea Shift" in the mold. Tomorrow, it will come out of the mold. Since, tomorrow is somewhat filled with projects I'll have to wait until Friday and I'll possibly get down there then.
Thank you Wade! (It sure is great having these industrial spies around here!)

Da Nag didn't take the bait on the last post; must be spending too much time with Da Duck.
Oh, don't think I didn't notice. It's just been a tough couple of days...a good smart-a** comment wasn't coming to me as readily as usual.

However, being that today is my "work from home" day, and I've just had my latte, I feel like I'm getting back to normal a bit. So...

Opening Day, eh? Did they move that to January this year? :xtongue

Nope! It's January of next year!

Won't make it to the factory today. Jessica and I both caught the flu big time! Carol can't get out of the house quick enough to go to work so she doesn't catch it. Even with the flu, the excitement hasn't dampened!!

Sorry to hear that, Dave. You guys take care of yourselves and shake it before next week. Can't be having no sick Santas, ya know.

Hope it gets all better quick.

I see that the first US case of Mad Cow Disease has been confirmed in Washington state. It got me wondering if maybe it was one of Dave's cows that he drove crazy talking about that durn new boat!?!

Another reason why C-Dory boats have been good for me......got me to get rid of the cows, so I'd have more boatin' time!

Its a LOOKIN' GOOD! :smilep

Carol, Jessica and I drove to the factory today to check out the new "Sea Shift". She's now in the finishing department. Chuck was working on her when we arrived. We snapped a few pictures with the digital camera.....now I've just got to figure out how to get them to the site. I'll take the camera to work tomarrow and find one of my "nerdy" partners to help me to become a "nerd" so I can post the pix.
Les, the factory indicated that "Sea Shift" would be coming your way in about a week.

OK, that's it. I worked both days this past weekend, so I haven't been around here much. Now I'm back. How about an update on the SSSS?!?
