In many ways, the Seattle Boat Show is a good deal. Good to see good friends, Good to see cool boats, good to see fun toys and good to find great deals.
So here are a couple of good things I found, since nobody offered to give me a free pickup or an Ocean Sport 33, I made due with some lessor finds that helps save some boat units.
For boaters anywhere, I think a BoatUS membership is a practical idea. Not just for the towing, but for the support to the industry, like fighting ethanol in fuel, or limiting it to 10% at least. Back to that in a bit.
For Washington boaters, there is another membership organization that seems like a good place to drop a few bucks, especially if there are some good benefits. BINGO. Go first to the Recreational Boating Association of Washington (RBAW) booth and pay the $20 for that membership. There you get a FREE copy of the new 2016 Waggoners Cruising Guide. Get the RBAW folks to give you a receipt that includes the GA number “GA83211B” and take that down to the BoatUS booth and get you membership there. The RBAW receipt will save you about $10 on the basic membership. Add whatever towing addition you are comfortable with.
Now take your new FREE Waggoners to the Port Harvey Marine Resort Booth and have them sign their add on page 293 and that will be good for a 2 for 1 fish and chips dinner at Port Harvey.
Another good deal is the opportunity to get up close and personal with the new 22C-Dory Cruiser at the Waypoint Marine section. It looks very nice with some great fit and finish.
I didn’t fine the key to the Ocean Sport or get a discount on 98% on the 28 Sea Sport so I guess you’re on your own for those.
