Seattle visit

I am thinking of doing a short trip to the Seattle area from Victoria with my CD22. Does anyone have any recommendations for a marina to stay at while visiting? Where is the best place to clear into the US on the way? Port Townsend?

Do you want to have walking access to things? We use the Bell Harbor marina which is located next to Pike place and many other places worth visiting. For a short visit, it would give you the most shore excursion options without going through the locks.

If you're visiting Seattle on a boat, Bell Harbour is the best place to stay. It's right downtown, near several attractions and reasonable.

here's Journey on in Seattle and other places in Puget Sound.

Thanks all. Looks like Bell Habor or Shishole are the options. Where should I clear customs/immigration? Should I stop in Port Townsend or go straight to Seattle? What are the options?

I found that page and decided to call the office at Pt Townsend, and it looks like I can pull into the marina and meet the customs agent there. He said to call ahead and make an appointment... but it sounds posible at leas and does not require a big detour...

Hey Mike. Not sure how long you have but if you have a bit of time. A number of years back we checked in at Anacortes and ran down Swinomish channel to La Conner then onto Shilshol and the locks to Lake Washington. Coming home we made the run from Townsend to Oak Bay. 'Twas a great trip and I think we did it in 10 days. Keep us posted on the trip. Cheers Terry
