Seawater through the TomCat's forward window

Hello to all.

Fellow TomCat owners, do you ever have seawater splash through the forward window? I ask because I am planning some electrical work below there, which obviously can't get wet.

If it is only a problem in heavy seas, I can close the window of course. But if it happens even in moderate seas, I may need to rethink my plan.

All opinions welcome. :)

Do you mean the center window on your windshield? As a rule I close mine before I plane off unless I am in flat calm seas. Even in moderate seas there will be a little sneezing that will splash on your windshield. My Furuno nav system is right in front of the window (but lower than the dash) and I prefer to keep that dry :D

Yes, that's what I meant. So I should plan to not have that window open. There is no way I can have seawater splash through that window without shorting something out.

Matt, on a hot day, are the side windows enough ventilation while under way?

Do you get hot days up there? :) It has been a wicked hot summer here so far.

Oh yeah...I think we've have set records this summer. We have had weeks of 90 days in Boston and high humidity.

With all the windows open except for the center window I find there is plenty of breeze when planed off. If going at hull speed or in flat calm seas I will run with the center window open. I too cannot afford water coming through that window.
