Setup for Shrimping

That's exactly it, Dusty. Large shrimp here are exactly that -- shrimp. Run 30 to a pound, the jumbo is 16-20/lb range. The deep shrimp are the "rock" shrimp here. Some real fun can be had by putting a few teens on the front of a boat with dip nets when the shrimp are really running good and watch them battle it out gladiator style. Almost any pass with good water flow will have shrimp running in it on the outgoing tide down here.
 
flaggold, I remember going out back of the barracks in north carlianawith a throw net. two throws of the net into 10ft deep water and you had 300 shrimp for a cookout. Here in the north west the shrimp stay deep. 250 t0 300 ft.
 
dammit! You're revealing secret info! The dip-net stuff is loads of fun, but if you really want to get them, throw a can of dogfood in, wait a half hour, and then castnet over it (you get the jumbos that way). In Brunswick, Ga., in spring when they're really running the tributaries on the outgoing tide, you can run an open skiff along at speed and they'll flip up into it and fill the boat (13 ft Whaler)! It's one of the most amazing things I've ever seen happen.
