Tom,
Sorry I will have to miss this. I would have loved to taken my son. We started crabbing last year with zero knowledge, but he really enjoyed it. I have this evergreen book and it is very helpful.

I really want to learn this, but we've got a get-together tonight with another family. He's a boater, too, though (Bayliner, you know, but he's an OK fellow), so I'm going to see if maybe the gals and kids want to get together as planned, while us manly men go learn about catching shrimp...we'll see :-)

Tom - I can't come, got called to a City Council meeting unexpectedly in Des Moines, but Patty just left to attend...hope no pre-registration is required or anything.

To John in Montana; It must be a spelling thing, I'm sure they meant Sheeping Classes!
I remember a LOT of banter between the Montanan's & Dakotan's over that subject!

I thought I saw Patty there. I will say the meeting last night was a bit dissapointing, I was hoping for more info on actual shrimping techniques, area's etc.. Instead of an infomercial for one guys puller's. Being a member of the club I've been to numerous meetings, and usually they are much more informative. Oh well it was good to see some freinds and talk halibut.

I agree, last year the same class was alot better. More info on spots and how to set up your traps, depth and baits. We did give away a really nice puller and the winner did not have boat so he turned right around and sold it off after the show. It was going for around $500 when I left, thats for a $1500 puller. Wish I had the gas.
