Site is Launched!

Thank you, Bill and Mike, for providing us with this great resource. Had I not found this site, it is likely that we wouldn't be C-Dory cruising... which means we would not have met all the great owners who have made our C-Dory ownership so special. For me, this site is the hub of all things C-Dory... and it expands out to provide exchange of ideas, gatherings, chance meetings, and encouragement. We appreciate all you do to make this site so friendly and welcoming. Happy third anniversary! :cake

Best wishes,
JIm & Joan B.

Certainly one of the best--if not the best owners group on the internet. This is due to the hard work of the moderators--and adds immensely to the value of our boating experiences!

Thanks so much from the Thataway crew!

I thank you too but me thinks the biggest thanks should be coming from the factory.

I've got to believe visiting this site, pre-purchase, it is one reason many of us newbies bought a CD.

Phil :thup

Phil,

You are right, of course. But on the flip, if there is a problem, real or imagined, the world knows about it. That's good of course, but I'm sure the factory gets some heartburn along the way   -- bottom line is a better boat, so worth the hassle, eh?

Bottom line for me has been the joy of working for Bill and Mike for many years - since just a few of us "Brats" got booted from another site and looked for a place to light. To know both of them personally and enjoy their friendship is way cool for this old guy.

Dang it Dusty...yer' making me all misty-eyed. And I ain't even started drinkin' yet.

:beer :beer :beer

Personally, I have no idea what you're talking about. But with Dusty, Bill, Mike, & Brock all on the same page, and even Les and Redfox comin' out of the woodwork, it must be a big deal. So thanks for all you have done, whatever it is. Please don't explain it to me. (Jeez my machine is working fast)

Thanks to those that make this site possible and to all who contribute their smarts and knowledge on subjects. Where else would one find such great information, it is really valuable to all of us.

MartyP, yer computer is so fast you didn't have time to pick up on the dates. :wink This thread goes WAY back! You can see who the "Charter Members" were, just by reading the first couple'a page. It's done nothing but improve since then.

I like that.

HAPPY birthday, a tip of the hat to Bill and Mike and others for all they do...This place sure enhances the whole C-D experience. Some of the many benefits of membership I've enjoyed:
*access to a wealth of local boating knowledge
* access to some minds that really know some stuff
* boat modification ideas
* we got to meet many neat folks and DRINK FREE BEER

here's to many more years and to folks we've yet to meet

note, not to pee on the parade, but, Mike opened the pub about 3-02, that would make the pub 5 years old on 3-07, today marks a major remodel of the pub curtesy of Bill's wizzardy

:cake :cake :cake
I think everything has already been said, so all I have to add is ditto and B~C, please pass me one of those free beers. :beer

Congratulations and thanks guys. Besides a great source of knowledge and practical information this site has helped me to see that I am not as odd as my wife tells me I am :crook . Heck honey, there's lots of folks just like me out there :smilep . Doc

Thanks so much for starting this site...

Well...you're certainly all welcome for the little part I've been playing, but there's another guy around here who's the brains of the operation.

I'd mention him by name, but it would just go to his head.

I like to think of him as the overly sensitive heart of the operation. Anyone frequently referred to as the "head nerd" must be the brains. So if you've got the brains, and Mike the heart, I guess we have to assign "courage" to Dusty. Seems appropriate for a former navy guy. Even more appropriate for an a guy who took on the job of "moderator".

Mike and Bill make an incredible pair of complimentary site owners and managers who deserve all our deep and sincere apreciation for originating and maintining our wonderful C-Brat home. It would certainly be an oversimplification to label them the heart and brains of this clan, but the generalization is one that holds a lot of truth for all of us.

Moreover, I know of no other web site with such a feeling of community and mutual respect as this one. I've experienced it before in yacht and sailing clubs, but never on line. There's a reverence and respect for each other and the boating life here that seems unique and extends directly into the real world.

In addition, the community seems to be more than equal to the sum of the parts, and that's even after considering what wonderful, thoughtful, and knowledgable folks we have on board. Something to really treasure in today's world.

Perhaps some of our humor and overly familiar comments might seem a bit out of line or off topic to some at first, but we're just one big family and can behave as such. It's better that way.

Joe.

This really is an excellent site. For years I read and posted on the
rec.boats newsgroup. Unfortunately, it degenerated since there was
no moderation. I haven't checked it for several years...

Thanks!

Unlike here, where our secret to success, is that we're moderated by a bunch of degenerates. :P
