SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

The new seats are in now. They bolted right to the existing mounts and feel so much better. For the price (345 each), they sure look fairly plain but we really wanted the added support and comfort they provide. We had planned to have the existing seats re-foamed but when we sat in one of these at the Seattle boat show this year, we decided it might be worth starting over.

Hand built in the C-dory factory just for Ari!

I like the bolstering - looks comfortable. Just curious, what happens when you fold the backs down. Do they go flat (maybe not with that much cushioning)? If not, do you think the standard mod with the added bit of metal at the hinge would make it so?

Did I mention how comfortable they look? :gift

WOW Greg, those really look nice. :thup :thup

Sunbeam beat me to the question. Will they :?: :?: :? :?

I wonder if you talked to them about that? If not, maybe we should. We already have "Barber" chair, we could have a Greg'so chair too. I know it is not a huge deal to do that mod, (for some people), but wouldn't it be cool if you could order them from the factory already done :D

Those are nice, and they should fit perfect.....like yours do.

Took a weekend trip to Friday Harbor for our 33rd Wedding Anniversary!

Spent Friday night at dock in Cornet Bay and went over to FH on Saturday. Nice run in the boat with smooth water and sun breaks. Engine running good after a tune up by EQ Marine.
Had brunch at Rocky Bay Cafe and dinner at the Rumor Mill. Listened to a duet singing oldies. Both eateries were very good, looking forward to our dinner at the Rumor Mill for gathering.

Nice run back this afternoon on nice water and spotty showers.

I took my boat to the Hoods Port IGA http://www.iga.com/consumer/locator.aspx?SearchText=98548 for some groceries yesterday. Instead of a 30 minute drive into town, it is now 15 minutes to cross Hood Canal, moor at the Port of Hoods Port dock, walk across highway 101, and get groceries. It was raining like crazy and I was soaking wet, but the Espar was able to keep the windows de-fogged. I left it on when shopping and had a nice warm ride back home. I even took off my coat and had a beer on the way back. Decadent boating. I may have to go again today.

My first guest came aboard while I was shopping.

Mark, Sorry I missed you. I stop there every trip to and from Portland. And I know I did, because I am always looking for C-Dorys.

While at the IGA there I would highly recommend a Nanaimo Bar. They have several styles, and a few other "illegal" treats, that will boost your Blood sugar level by about a grand.

By the way, hope your "guest" didn't leave any tracks.

Harvey,

I was back at the Hoods Port IGA today, this time with my boat on the trailer. I went up to Lake Cushman only to find out that all of the public boat launches on the lake are closed. So I went to Lake Kokanee, the reservoir right below Cushman. Tacoma Light has a boat launch there. Lake Kokanee is 8.5 miles from my place as the crow flies. By trailered boat, it was 102 miles. Pictures are under "Sea Trials" even though this was a land trial of my trailer modifications.

Thanks for the link. Nice pix. I drive the 101 on a pretty regular basis; never thought about fresh water there. Nice.

:?: :?: Did you try the Nanaimo Bar :?: :?:

Careful, they can be habit forming.

Ran up to Sucia to blow everything out. With all the talk of Les Lampman taking off - reminds me that he assembled my boat exactly 10 years ago.

Beautiful photo, Chromer!

We have been getting out almost every day that weather allows. Yesterday was beautiful. We went up the Swinomish Channel past La Conner for the first time. Then we circumnavigated Fidalgo Island. Burrows and Allen Islands are beautiful from the water! We had the current with us going home through Deception Pass. That was a trip, idling at about 12 knots! It was like a carnival ride with all the whirlpools!

The Oak Harbor Marina is starting to fill up. More boat traffic is always fun to watch. Summer is coming! Yeah!

Great day on the boat today! Watched three gray whales for over an hour north of Gedney Island slowly making their way south. Then had our first C-Dory sighting on the way back when we saw "Pegasus", a 22', fishing! I am about to look for her on this site!

C-Glory- you have a sharp boat and I wish I'd had better social skills and taken the time to stop fishing and introduce myself and my wife (she was napping in v-berth) We had a great weekend and took the Pegasus over to Port Ludlow and then Port Townsend and back to Camano. Tons of fun and beautiful weather to boot!

Finally finished the first project of the year. I installed a new Garmin 18 xHD and new Garmin 741xs Chartplotter/Sonar with Chirp and DownVu. Everything works and I'm very excited for the upcoming boating season.

I'll be selling the unit I replaced, a 2012 Lowance LRA-1800 HD Radar and a Lowrance LCX-27C Chartplotter/Sounder complete with RIM 300 cable for Radar connection. Both units are in excellent running condition and in very good condition overall. PM me if interested. I'll be posting an ad later.

With all that gear, you have no excuses for not plugging your hull many times over this summer

You will love that unit I have the same and you'll be surprised what you can get for your old electronics. I fetched over $800 for my old E80 Ray Marine gear on eBay.

Thanks Jay, yes I can't wait to use the new stuff. Good to know re selling of old equipment.

Dwight, I guess you'll experience first hand how effective the new equipment is in catching fish. :smiled

Thanks Harvey. I'll keep u out posted about DownVu.
