Not having a C-Dory yet, we went sailing... after a walk on the beach. In the Tropical Tip of Texas, it isn't officially spring until you can hear the pounding of the music from one of the spring break clubs on South Padre Island (from 6 miles out in the Gulf!)... or the traffic backs up for miles across the causeway (but you can peacefully watch it crawl while you're out in your boat)... and you can watch while 6 very pale kids pile 12 cases of beer and one bag of chips into a grocery cart.
We had dolphins swimming around the boat, watched the pelicans diving for their lunch, and enjoyed the 79 degrees, hazy sunshine, and nice breezes... but, not a dog-gone Dory to be seen.
Got the Otter out on the Potomac for the first time yesterday since January 8. Too much work! Engine started right up. Dogs enjoyed the cruise. Nice to have the days getting longer.
Regarding "why a C-Dory instead of a center console": We spend winters in deep south Texas... sometimes it's downright chilly here that time of year (like only gets to 70 degrees ). We're looking for something to cruise in. With some comforts. OUT of the weather.
Hey, aren't you guys supposed to be trying to talk me INTO one of these boats?
