I'm excited. Loading the boat and prepping to hopefully get out of here tomorrow and launch sometime in the afternoon. Looking forward to meeting the people behind the boats. Will monitor channel 68 for any C-Brats that may be around. I noticed Will C posted some pics of the area. I doubt he's the only early bird. As a side note, after the gathering concludes, I plan a slow cruise north towards Green Cove Springs and explore Black Creek. We've missed past opportunities to check out that area due to work constraints. I've not set a return date and will just go with the flow so to speak. We can see who may be spending more time on the river and perhaps meet up along the way.

We left Key Largo on Saturday and put the boat in at Holly Bluff Marina near Hontoon State Park Saturday evening. Sunday we took a spin and took a lot of pictures mostly on the Hontoon river. Today we headed down river and north about 60 miles or so to Welaka at the Acosta Creek Harbor marina. Tomorrow we want to wonder up the Ocklawaha a bit and head back down to Holly Bluff to wait out the rain predicted for Wednesday. We have to leave Saturday early so we wanted to check out what we could while we were here. Charge your camera batteries.

The forecast sounds great. Our drive east has gone wonderfully. We've just concluded a fun week at Lake Martin in Alabama. Saw a few fishermen on the lake but no one else. Today we brought the boat down to Wefing's for some work that will start tomorrow. We should be headed down to the gathering by Friday morning and plan to launch at Holly Bluff Marina.
