STRANGE C-DORY sighted today. No cabin

While out for a (escape from work responsibilities) Drive I saw a C-Dory without the characteristic hard top. Kinda looked more like an Arima with the windshield and setup for a soft top. Had the longer cabin base with the hatch infront of the windshield and the characteristic C-Dory hull lines. I originally thought it was an Arima til I saw the C-Dory stenciled on the side. Appeared to be maybe 20-22 feet long setup with a outboard.

What is it? Cause I am tempted to go back this week and leave a "If you ever wish to sell the boat Please call me" Note.

Did it look like this?

If so, it's one of the new C-Dory 22 ft Center Console models.

More information HERE.

If it was different, it was probably a custom boat, or ? I'll look for a cou0le of other possibilities shortly!

Jim-

You well may be right!

The listing has expired, so I can't readily find a picture, but for anyone interested, here's a LINK to the discussion of that boat.

Yes the jet got sold so maybe on the water. I would really like to tke that for a ride. I spend a lot of time on two of my freinds jet sled on the river and its a blast.

FIRST OFF please excuse the horrendous spelling, PDA typing isn't easy.

Nope not either of the ones pictured. It was set up for an outoard think it had a older johnson or Evinrude on it somewhere between 88-115 range (guess).
Looked to be 80's maybe again it's being stored and has been out in the weather, so i'm guessing

Cockpit wise it was like a standard runabout/daycruiser. Windshield with snaps around it for attaching canvas, back to back fold down seats. wind shield went accorss the boat like a daycruiser or runabout. No canvas on it but it did have the frame for canvas. Definitly no hardtop behind the wind shield, only seup for canvas with a cuddy forward of the windshield.

Sounds like maybe a simular setup to the jet C-Dory, anyone have pictures of it?

I may try and go back and get pictures of this C-Dory AND leave the "If you ever wish to sell this boat please call me note" Sounds pretty rarish

Thanks for the elaboration!

Sounds like a one-of-a-kind custom to me.

Would appreciate any photos you can get.

We need to set up an album to capture and retain photos of unique and rare C-Dory boats.

I would be willing to monitor it for the group.

It kinda sounds like the C-Dory we saw fishing next to us in the Anacortes Salmon Derby near Eagle Point on Cypress Island. If I recall it was blue with a windshield and canvas. I tried to take some pics of it and will post a pic if it came out ok. It was definitely a C-Dory but it did look a bit like those small Arima's.

Just for kicks and giggles: Why did this pop up when I clicked on the "Most Recent Posts since you last visited" button?

Charlie,

You are half right, It was only 0200 in your silver of time. On my side it was just after 10PM. But you are on the mark I had pushed a search button, opened a second window and got lost in the fog. The weather is clearer after the extra hour of sleep.

I saw a C-Dory with no hardtop - just a windshield - about 8-10 years ago on a storage lot in Langley. I thought I had posted about it, but can't find the post, so I guess I didn't manage. Very strange to see the C-Dory graphics on a boat with no hardtop!

Here is a listing of a 1989 C-Dory Offshore 21' with 2011 90hp etec - $16000 (santa cruz)

That's another rare, or one-of-a-kind, C-Dory!

And it's the only one I've ever seen with that narrow, flared, hull configuration!

And did you notice the outboard bracket? Also, the gas tanks are under the cockpit sole, plus perhaps other things like the batteries, and ….?

Add it to the photo collection archives before it "disappears" for another 5-10 years!
