Hi, I have a 16' angler and would like to get some sort of protection from the sun in the rear half of the boat. I haven't been able to find if there are any made to fit the C' dory.. Would I have to have one custom made? Not sure what they're called, bimini top?

Welcome to the site. Take a couple of minutes and search for bimini tops. Or just look at some of the pictures in the albums. One each post you will find a name highlighted under the posters name, city, boat type etc. That will take you to their album. Or just start going through the individual albums.

Look at Brock's bimini on Bambina, very nicely done and encloses the cockpit, custom job and looks great.

Welcome. I took a bit of a different turn for cockpit cover. I put my inflatable over it, but that may not be what you want. There are a bunch of 16 around and active on the site so you might get more specific info from one of them.

Here's a photo of Bambina, Brock's super sweet 16 on his way home from the gulf islands. Not long after I took the pix, a lady on the point at John Wayne asked me about his boat and why the Canadian flag. I told her he was on his way home from there and she said "WHY, in that little boat, why would he do that?" I just said because he could.

Thanks for the information everyone. That gives me some idea's to go on, we sure enjoy our little c'dory. Its the biggest little boat out there and I feel significantly safer in it than any other 16' I've ever been in. Look forward to meeting some of you one day.

Hi Pete,

King Marine Canvas in Seattle used to be the factory supplier for C-Dory. They have patterns for each model and can make you up a Bimini without having your boat there. You can pick it up or drop off the boat for a few hours to have it installed. Reasonable prices too. :thup

Yes welcome! If you are looking for a Bimini you might also want to consider a full camper back. We had one for our 16 and it significantly increased the amount of room we had to use out of the elements.

Had the factory Bimini on my 16, but felt it got in the way. Had this made and it really works great. Still haven't tired the side curtains in yet. On the "To Do List", maybe January or February. The factory Bimini can be ordered from "King Marine Canvas".

Although King is high quality products and they are quick as they have the templates, you have to be careful when you specify what you want. Their standard fit will allow some dripping at the corners so you have to work out the attachment points and features along the edges. A lesson I have learned the hard way. Either they make minor alterations for you or you will have to get it custom done. The minor dripping at some of the edges, at least in the northwest, can drive you crazy. When you spend that much on canvas you expect it to stay dry.
