SEAHAWK FANS

Terry Bradshaw, after living a full life, had died. When he got to heaven, God was showing him around. They came to a modest little house with a faded Steelers flag in the window. "This house is yours for eternity, Terry." said God.

"This is very special; not everyone gets a house up here." Bradshaw felt special, indeed, and walked up to his house.

On his way up the porch, he noticed another house just around the corner. It was a 3 story mansion with a blue and white sidewalk, a 50 foot tall flag pole with an enormous SEAHAWKS flag, and in every window a blue Towel.

Bradshaw looked at God and said, "God, I'm not trying to be ungrateful, but I have a question. I was an all-pro quarterback, I hold many NFL
records, and I even went to the Hall of Fame."

God said, "So what's your point Bradshaw?" "Well, why does Matt Hasselbeck get a better house than me?"

God chuckled, and said, "Terry, that's not Matt's house, it's mine."

My sentiments exactly. Aren't seahawks those things we shoot off the buoys?

Just try to find a real seahawk
The hunt could prove fruitless. The Seattle Seahawks make do with an African augur hawk.

From the image on the players' helmets, a seahawk appears to be fierce, proud and resolute, much like the National Football League team it represents.

That bird that flies around Qwest Field during games is actually an augur hawk, native to Africa.
In fact, a real seahawk is none of those things.

Because, you see, there is no real seahawk.

That's right, Seattle's mascot is a bird that does not exist.

Throughout North America, there are plenty of species of hawks - black hawks, gray hawk, red-tailed hawks, red-shouldered hawks and broad-winged hawks, to name a few - just as the Pacific Northwest has an abundance of indigenous seabirds.

But a seahawk? Nope.

Not here, not anywhere.

What about the bird that flies around Qwest Field during Seahawk home games? Actually an augur hawk, native to the highlands of east Africa - far from the nearest seashore.

Is there really so little to do in Wasilla at this time of year that you have to while away the time shooting at imaginary birds??

Wow, I caught the first one that came along. Somebody takes their football real serious, and that's ok we all have those things we are fond of. Now take me for instance, I have been told that I am a social predator, probably due to my great sense of humor! P.S I am a responsible gun owner and don't shoot anything off the buoys! Hope your team does well this Saturday!

Hope they don't start shootin at Seahawks like they did Bigfoot....all the sightings stopped when they decided to shoot :-) I doubt the Steelers would say the defensive hits are imaginary...I'm with Robbi...Go C-Hawks! (cuz the Skins ain't playin) :wink

boy, listening to all the sports "experts" on the TV and radio, the Hawks may as well just turn around and come home now. It's going to be extra nice if the Hawks put a whippin on the Steelers......tough part is that around here, the kid & I have been rooting for the Steelers for years....we're hoping the Steelers come in 2nd
