Suzuki Tale of Woe

Nope, I'm still thinking ECM for a lot of reasons,(read story from beginning on Suzuki Forum) but if I must, I will haul it out and fix. This is a new problem, the boat came in running but a little rough and ran barely at the dock for troubleshooting, now will not start, it's like electronic deterioration to me, I could put some dry ice on the ECM and see if it works then?
I always like to troubleshoot instead of hanging parts, but that's all the best mechanic I could find would do so far.
Thanks for everyone's help, I'll stay on it till it's fixed.
Roger

Yes, I drain it every year at haulout/maintenance, have never seen any even slight contamination. I'm a freak for clean gas, I've been at this a while. A few weeks ago I ran it on a separate 6 gallon tank(it was still sort of running then)
It's quittin' time here on the East Coast, but I was thinking tomorrow, I would drain the VST, and blow out the system w/ compressed air from the low pressure pump to the injector bar and inspect all the gas in a glass jar, I just wish all those weird patterns on my SMIS would go away and I would be sure it's mechanical.
Thanks
Roger

"It runs fine on starting fluid" pretty much eliminates a computer/ECM problem & you don't need the SIMS gage to run the engine. Take the vapor separator off, clean & inspect, (your pres. reg. is in the bottom of the float bowl on the vapor separator). If the Float bowl area is all clean & no white/brown crud. Replace the H/P pump, re assemble & install. Go Boating.
 If full of white/brown crud replace assy. Go Boating

Roger sorry to hear your problems ,Hopefully changing out the VST filters so you can get better pressure and a smooth running engine
Good Luck with the DUCK.
BTW WAWa sells non ethanol fuel 89 octane for under $3.00

I had fuel pressure problems on my 2016 merc had to be towed in 2 times .I was getting similar problems the moter would run and then stop and would not start back up .The problem was it would start and run for a few minutes and then leave you high and dry without fuel pressure on fuel rail I thought it was filters did that and still problems So we changed out fuel pickups on the fueltanks also changed all the water sep filters and gave it a tune up Runs like a top now . Also put all new gas in (non ethanol )with startron .
