Sweet 16

It's me again. Boy am I having fun! I'm removing the old decals and should have some new C-Dory decals from Scott at Triton Marine soon. Thanks Scott! My question is, was there an original decal on this boat that said "Sweet 16"? I found something that said "Sweet 16" on both sides under the windshields but it was weather beaten and almost non legible. Was that original to the boat? Any one have a picture of one? I'd like to have a similar one made up at one of the on line vinyl lettering shops.

Take a photo of what is there now before you remove it--and then have a local shop duplicate it. Our fiberglass guy had one of his workers buffing our 22--and he hit the decal, and of coursed ruined it. They had the local shop make up a new one--actually 2 new ones, and put them on. But they did tell me what happened. Could not tell form the original.

Don't have any idea about Sweet 16, but sounds good!

Too late for pictures. I already took it off with the razor blade. Guess I'll leave it off. I don't like a lot of clutter. I have the original, large C-dory decals coming from Trident. Once I get it all together I'll take some photos. This is going to be a poor boy's boat. The later models were pretty decked out compared to this one. Nothing built in to it, even the windows are simple, just plexiglass set directly into the openings, sealed with silicone and held in place with some odd little clamps. The console was just a couple pieces of wood. I think the last owner modified it a bit to make more room but it looked original. I copied what was there, improved on it a bit and made my own since the old one was looking pretty bad. The side windows are just a couple of pieces of grooved teak with plexiglass sliders. No fancy aluminum frames here.
