Take this job and ......

Hi,
Them pike minnows might be just the thing ,the guy who made the most this year made over $39,000.00 dollars not a bad way to go. Geting paid to go fishing!

shux, Mike,

I've got kids older than 53, and my GREAT grand kids are absolutely the greatest things that came down the pike. Gotta keep boating, gotta keep fishing, and like El 'n' Bill say -- keep the horizon in sight!!! Go for it.

Heck, when El (my love) and Bill come back out to our God's country I'll even sing and play my harmonica for them!!!

Dusty (gotta gargle just in case)

BTW I think Wally World is still hiring greeters if you can grin like this ---> :D

Don't forget to tell the shoppers to exit at the opposite door so they can see my --->

I guess I am different from most folks - I enjoy my work. Can't say that my boss is a problem, because I've been self-employed for the last 28 years. Well, not really, I have my name on the front of the building, but I work for the Blonde (wife); she schedules all my sessions (professional photographer). We have decided to sell our business and real estate in the frozen northland and take some extended time off. Age 52. Reading Bill and El's adventures last spring must have really had an impace on me!

We are still sailors, but have not given up on a C-Dory. We have been supporting two homes and two boats... deciding to give up our business and the bigger of the homes may be change enough for a bit. I don't think we'll have any problem with finding stuff to keep us busy. I can't wait to see what I'm going to be when I grow up!

Best wishes,
James TX/SD... soon to be just "TX"

Congrats on the Retirement!!!!! :beer :cigar

MOOSE: Sure it looks like a French dish...or at least freench...there is not a back bone of spine to be found... :crook OK... I just had to say it.. and...remember I too have been retired since Feb05....and that aint my game anymore... Looks like a great dish and I need to try it out too.

Yep, Sherryl has me put up with an ocean front view in Myrtle Beach for about a week. Beautiful sunrise view every morning. Took me about a day and a half to get over the fear of not having a .....j..... jjjjjj .... job.
Wow, that was hard to get out. But, it has taken me a bit longer to say NO at times at all the volunteer work at the Church. I had gotten to a point where I needed time away and because it was not a real job, I had no vacation time built up...so....just saying no has worked OK, but I do not like to say no... and I like to never deny myself the pleasure of helping others...when I can.

Congrats again on your retirement.

ahhh...life without a job isn't all play! Monday, a gal pal asked if I'd ride over to Newport with her, so we had a great weather day at the coast, did her errands (and mine too -- nobody was home at the Port office last time we were there, so I went and paid for our last overnight stay), had lunch and then a "must" stop at the candle store on the way out of town. Tuesday, I had to drive alllll the way to Sherwood to get a decent haircut (Jefferson isn't noted for its hair salon) and lunch with my oldest son. Today, no rest for the weary...7AM coffee with the girls, home to start the soup for dinner tonight and tomorrow, an interview (Yes Tyboo...for a JOB ar ar ar) at 10AM, and spent the rest of the day adding things to the soup and baking pumpkin cookies and peanut butter cookies (some for tomorrow when I host Mah Jongg with the girls and some for the gang at Steve's job -- Steve's coworkers are delighted that I quit!) In the middle, I called and checked on the boat (they're doing the rubrail thing as the owner thinks that's where the water's making its way into the cabin) and expedited the liquidation of one of my retirement funds....

Looks like I might get to go get the boat Friday...it's supposed to rain for their test tomorrow...if it doesn't look like it's raining hard enough, I may call them and recommend they get the hose on the boat and give it a good dousing.

What a life, eh? :D

Get to garglin,' friend -- we're west of the Miss (even west of the Rio Grande) and have a GPS waypoint set in the handheld for Seattle Boat Show -- looking forward to seeing you and listening to the "music" -- is that a promise? Maybe, entertainment at the gathering? ... but, if shy, we'd love a smaller venue. By the way, El thinks your "smashing" in that Veteran's Day photo -- but thinks you're even better looking today! Retirement's been good for you -- with our best wishes and a hug from El --

Speaking of music, I don't want to jinx the deal, but it looks like Terraplane / Sally's Sister Tom McHugh is working mightly on making the SBS / CBGT too - hope he brings his bag of tricks! This time I promise to stay awake!!!! Our Upper Left Coasters are in for a treat if Tom can be persuaded to do a ditty or two!
