I have a 26' CD with a 200HP Honda on a bracket. Seastar steering.
When the boat was hauled on the trailer from W. Palm Beach Fla. to Anchorage, Alaska the seals on the steering cylinders wore out and leaked badly. I replaced both seals, refilled the system and bled the lines as specified. It worked well but the motor had some "play" when centered.
Today my friend and I bled the lines again. Had a few bubbles on one side but clear on the other. We did it 3 times on each side and no bubbles on the last bleed. The steering is tight when turned to either side but still loose in the center. The cylinder moves approx. 1/2". How can this be eliminated??
When centered the motor moves with just the slightest turn (approx. 1") of the wheel.
Thx.
