At ten PM Pacific time my son's brother-in-law will be entering the operating room for a liver transplant. As my extended family I would like to ask that you say a prayer, cross your fingers, or whatever you think is appropriate to help build a bridge over troubled waters for this wonderful young man. Thanks. MartyP

Our best wishes for Joe.

I recall a transplant surgeon describing the operation -- he held two lives in his hands as he was harvesting from a donor and implanting in the recipient -- definitely God like.

Marty, Sally and I can only echo what others have said. This kind of operation can give him new life, hopefully a long and fulfilling one.

Please let us know the outcome. I'm sure your family didn't get much sleep last night!

It's a wonderful morning! Joe has a new liver! The doctor said the surgery went very well and the liver and Joey are both healthy. It will take some time for Joe to recover completely and he will have to continue to take it easy for a while, but he should be fine now.

Thank you all for all of your prayers and positive thoughts.
It's greatly appreciated.
