The Brat Map

I was perusing it today and the middle of the map has started to get filled in. From what I can see, there's brat boat in every state but West Virginia.

No Brats in WVa. is surprising, as the Kenawha River from at least Cabin Creek, WVa through Charleston, and all the way to the Ohio River is a unique trip, and of course once on the Ohio the options are almost limitless. :beer
There are a number of marinas and private residences all along there....One of them should get a C-Dory :P

JimD: Man...you are at least in VA. You should feel a bit of obligation here to just go buy a C-Dory and move west... just to make our map look better. Grin.

Hope you find your Dory soon!!

 Funny, we were just looking at the map since the Sequim Bay CBGT and found out we weren't on it either, Or any of the CD's that we know here in our area. Looked like there had not been any updates on the map for a while. Maybe we didn't look hard enough but missed figuring out how to get us on there too. :embarrased
Thanks for any direction. You all sleep well now,

If you have entered your Zip Code and still do not see your boat, zoom way in on your zip code area. When there are many boats from the same zip code as in Sequim, many pins will be behind others. There are six boats in the Sequim zip code. Unless you zoom in, it appears that only one boat is listed for that area.

It is not obvious, but the way you get on the Brat Map is to enter your ZIP code in your profile. It then shows up automatically on the map. If you have entered your ZIP code and are not on the map, go to your profile, delete the ZIP code, submit, then enter it again and re-submit. I just put us on the Brat Map yesterday. In looking at some old threads, I had tried without success early on and just gave up. Tried again yesterday and it worked fine...and of course, like Dave says, you have to zoom in quite a bit to separate the flags in the same area...

I can't figure out how to get myself on the Brat Map...it does allow "Anglers" doesn't it?

Some corrections/clarifications:

- You must enter your zip code, AND your C-Dory information in your profile. Both are required for a pin to be placed.

- Some zip codes fail to work. If they are not in my lookup table, no pin will be placed. Newer zip codes might fall into this category.

- Only works for US citizens. There is no free master list of Canadian postal codes, mapped to lat/lon coordinates.

The above (and more) is covered in the Brat Map Announcement post.

Thanks Bill! This is a great item to play with. I have been able to meet some of my C-Brat friends for lunch when traveling simply because of this map. Nice when you meet folks you have only had conversations with thru our Brat site.

Good stuff... and yall come on down, over &/or up for the Cumberland River Cruise Fall 07 in November.

I keep checking to see if they're any more C-25s in So. Cal. I'm amazed that there are only 4 shown. AND one is a dealer, who sold the boat last year.

Anyway, a belated hello to dellandsteve, and hope to see you soon.
