Looks like a movie stunt that came true. I had a Harley rider hit my car two weeks ago and it was due to inattention on his part and is inability to stop quickly enough with other traffic. I have ridden that bike before and the brakes could be better for sure. He was fine but the bike and car door don't look quite the same. He was also lucky because he had no bodily safety gear on except a small "cap" and managed to scrub off most of his speed before he hit the jersey barrier and my car.
I ride myself and understand the dynamics involved. He actually did a better than average job of mitigating the damage to himself.
The sport bikers really do deserve the reputation they have. Not all bad of course but they sure do over-represent in crash videos.
