The Pirate is Gone

For some of us, his music was the "soundtrack to our lives." His concerts were an event. He built quite a business empire based on that laidback lifestyle.

RIP, JB.

RIP Jimmy Buffet. His roots are only a few miles from our home by water. He was born in Orange Beach, AL. and like many here, hung out at "Pirate's Cove". A local burger and beer joint, with beaches where you can pull up your boat bow to. (Locals claim this to be the inspiration for "Cheeseburger in Paradise".). There is no argument that he started his singing career there. LuLu's is a nice restaurant with plenty of docks several miles down the ICW which is owned by Jimmy's sister.

I expect eulogies at both of these places this weekend.

He brought a lot of joy to a lot of people. I just hope he found his shaker of salt so he can rest in peace.

His songs and outlook on life brought us folks from up north many years dreaming of life down south.
His legacy will entertain us forever.

I named two boats after lines in Jimmy Buffett songs. My boat names were
“Saint Somewhere” and “Caribbean Soul”. His songs always made me smile and made me relax. I will miss him..
