Thanks Mike, glad to be here!

I do have questions, lots of them, but here's one which has been dabbling me for awhile which could always be solved with a ruler.

http://c-dory.com/22 plan.htm

With this drawing from the CD site concerning the floorplan of the 22' cuiser there're 3 main sections - the cockpit, the cabin and the berth. But...the overall length of the CD is 22 feet = 264 inches, but the 3 sections added up to 208 inches, which leaves the remaining 56 inches for the little tip section of the bow and the transom area. When you look at the drawing it looks like both are approximately the same length, but when I look at your pictures on this forum it doesn't feel to me like the transom area is 28 inches (56/2) but more like 3 feet. Anybody here with their 22 and a good ruler able to find the exact number of inches on both the bow and transom area? That would be a big help for future references :wink Thanks!

BTW: How bout the 19 footer? I would guess that the specs on the 19 are the exact same as the 22 footer only the 3 sections would have to be compromised by 3 feet, right?
Then, the 25 footer? Are the bow and transom lengths of the 25 footer the same as the 22? - I would assume the size would not be the same, but maybe the length?
Questions to be answered...

EDIT: Oh I do have another question concerning the boat themselves...

When I go and see my profile, it let's me choose if I had a 22' Cruiser, Angler, or CLASSIC. I know the modern cruiser and angler, but what's the Classic?

Is the Classic the model before (pre-87?) the now modern 22'? I guess I'm asking that since I saw on one of the member's boat as a 2006 22' classic, quite confusing...

David -

The "Classic" is the pre-87 model with the completely flat stern and rounded transom. It has a cabin similar in size and layout to the newer Angler. It is just too tempting for a lot of proud folks to click on that label when describing their own boat. Same goes for the CD25 guys who like to call theirs a "Cruise Ship". That designation applies only to the 1995-96 CD 25's, of which there were six made.

Regarding the 19, I do believe it is the same as the 22 from the windshield forward. The cabin and cockpit are shorter. Width is the same.

I can't say for sure on the size comparison between the 22 and 25. But it seems the three extra feet is divided between the three main sections, with the cabin getting a little more added length than the berth and cockpit. The most noticeable difference is in the width, however. It is amazing how much wider 10" makes the thing. Especially the first few tries at making the 90º turn into my slip between the dock and the Tolly after getting used to the 22.
