Well they got me again. After having my c-80 screen stolen out of the boat in september I installed a motion senser light above the boat. Well I quess they had good lighting when they stole the radar dome off the boat this weekend. Thats right the whole dam dome. They unbolted the dome and cut the wire harness. Now remember that my boat is behind my locked fence in my yard 25 feet from my bed!!! . The boat was locked and they did not brake in, just stole the dome. I am really gettting tried of this shit. I will be in the garage mixing up plastic to pack the ballbearings in for the claymore if anyone wants me.

Tom, sorry to hear about your loss. I agree, I'm sick of these lowlifes too. Hopefully your insurance settlement will be taken care of quickly. :x

Sorry to "hear" that Tom. Too bad the wiring harness wasn't hooked up to enough "juice" so it would have "flat lined" the crook when he cut the wires! (You'd have had plenty of crab bait for the season then).

Tom,

That stinks... Sounds like somebody is tryin to get their Christmas shopping done early. Were you home at the time? Maybe wire the motion sensor to just a beeper in the house to get your attention. Maybe find a radome Sales Prop at a dealer to get back up there until you get a real replacement for bait. Have the laser sight ready on the caliber of your choice. The thug is dumb enough to come back.

I am looking into a alarm system for the boat, thats money I don't have , or a game trail camera, more mony I don't have, to place in the back yard to get a pic of the dirt bag. if any of the computer geeks here have any ideas on how to do this with a computer and camera let me know. I figure at my hourly rate it takes me 18.66 hours every month to make my boat payment. Thats a lot of damm work just for some %$#@ to steal from me. If I do get a picture I will not give it to the cops. I will just find out who it is and take care of it my self. I do have a caliber of my choice and know how to use it. I did not spend three years as a range instructor in the marines for nothing.

Tom, I have extra cameras and all you would need to do is purchase some software and you could monitor your boat from anywhere on the internet. It will even email you the pic or call your cell phone.
Send me your contact info.

You can pretty well figure he'll be back. Probably the same #*#*head that got your C-80. He'll get bolder each time. (Not a bad idea to set up a "decoy" empty dome, if you can find one).

Tom-

Sorry to hear of your loss. I hope you catch that *@$#%*!?*%#@! in his tracks and give him the business! I just bought a Winchester Model 1200 Defender 8 shot 12 gauge pump you need some more firepower. Joe.

Tom,

Sorry to hear about the theft.
I have a motion detector that sets off an alarm in the house, or motorhome if I'm on the road. It works great.

I tried to post where I got it, but I can't remember- I've had it for several years. I'll keep looking.

What a pain. We had our 5th wheel broken into twice over the years and both times the cost of repair far exceeded the cost of what was stolen.

The earlier motion detector suggestion is a good one. Especially if you're close to the storage area, but it can be subject to false alarms if the wind blows and there are trees/bushes nearby. The webcam idea is even better, especially if coupled with some sort of motion detector trigger.

Either this scumbag is a boater or it's time to start watching Ebay auctions. :amgry

Home depot does a line of wireless motion detectors, one sensor will drive both lights and indoor module which will switch on a lamp and operate an alarm, They come in boxes marked "Wireless Command" and are made by Heath/Zenith. The manufacturer has a web site but I haven't checked it out www.desaint.com

You can also get a remote switch to set off the Claymores.

Two large German Shepherds help as well. !!!

Good luck,

Merv

Tom,

I'm sorry to hear that. What a bummer :amgry . I agree that some motion detectors or a cam of some kind would be benificial, and a big warning, stating that the area is under surveillance. And a big mean dog probably wouldn't hurt either. When I was younger two guys came to my house with crow bars trying to break in, while only one of my roomates was home, but the other had a huge rottweiler, that started jumping up in the window. The would be thieves saw him and bolted.

That's a real bummer Tom. Very sorry to hear it. I think watching E-Bay is a very good idea. Will be hard to fence a dome with a cut cable.

Dogs are a good idea and a couple of these wouldn't hurt!

I'd try putting a $25 dummy security camera on my house roof and aim it at the CD - some of these cameras even have battery powered flashing red lights. Then, I'd post a notice inside the pilot house window:

"Smile you're being recorded by the security camera mounted on our house roof".

I have a dog, hes just old and a whimp about sleeping out side. If you knock on the dog he will tear you a new one in no time flat, but he will not sleep out side in the winter. I have already been checking cragslist and ebay along with several other fishing boards that have for sale forums. I will be getting a camera and alarm system for the boat. I just have not decided which ones or how many yet. If the dog can here the alarm ,inside or out , then he will be up and ready to tear some one up. I will also be posting a reward for information at all the local gas stations and tackle shops that will let me. I should have gotten the camera after the last time, but did not follow thru. If I had a pic of the $#$@#$# then at least I could track the guy down. because some one he knows does not like him and will turn him in for 50 bucks. I recovered a stolen honda 350 for a friend a long time ago with out police involvment and It can be fun and fulfilling.
