TOGO 2 First Mission

TOGO

New member
Yesterday was our first really nice day in North Eastern WA. We took TOGO on her first training mission. We did stern tows, side tows, search patterns. She performed beyond what I expected and I expected a lot. I was really pleased with the way she tracked.
Remember last year when I was buying her she would not fit in the garage her new barn is about half built. One shouldn't leave a good lady out in the cold.

Guy,

Congratulations on getting the new boat in the water.

What body of water did you use for the "testing"? And by the way, after you finish your boat barn you are welcome to come down to our place and give some expert advice as I can tell that the tarping and untarping process is going to get old in a hurry.

You should start a photo album and include pictures of the barn building both in progress and when completed.

(Wasn't it nice to finally break the 60 degree mark in our neck of the woods?)

We went out on Lake Pend Oreille launch at Hope, ID the lake is still down ( about 7 feet) but lake is 1000 feet deep. there are 4 launch ramps that I know of that are good at low water. They should be bring it up to summer level in June.
I am having the barn built. I used to do that but no longer like handling big pieces of wood on tall ladders.

it's good to see some C-dorys in Eastern Washington/Idaho area.
I just recently joined the C dory family. I just purchased my boat and haven't had it in the water yet.

First C-Dory I ever saw was on Priest lake. Saw it scoot by us when were sailing a montgomery 15. Finally got over to where it was tied at a private dock, and sailed back and forth along the dock enough times the owner came out so we could ask what kind of boat it was.

It was cute.

Its good to hear there is a other C-Dory in the area. Last year I saw one up on a lift dock on Priest Lake maybe it is the same one. I will be on Priest Lake on May 29th. I am going to try to be there twice a month this summer. I usually launch at Indian Creek Sate Park.

This is off topic, but the first C-Dory that I ever saw was in Bellingham being towed by someone from the Lummi Nation. I don't even remember whether it was a 16, 19, or 22. All I remember is that it had a cabin. I had just returned from a very cold and wet crabbing session in my 13' Glasply, and I started to think about a nice warm cabin. The rest is, as they say, history.

I'm jealous of your water levels. They have drawn Dworshak down so far the one workable boat ramp is not usable in my opinion... they dozed a rough road down a ridge below the ramp and it is very steep, very rocky and too much can go wrong with hidden rocks, holes & etc. Still dumping water out of lake but it is beginning to come up. Perhaps 2 weeks.

Welcome to the C-Dory family! We are in Port TOwnsend but our daughter and family live in Cheney in eastern WA. You have beautiful waters to explore!

The first time we saw a C-Dory was in 2004 before we moved to Port Townsend from Arizona, and it was at at John Wayne Marina near Sequim, WA. A couple had just pulled their C-Dory out of Sequim Bay and invited us to come aboard and take a look. We were hooked right then and there! Didn't get their names but suspect it was "Sleepy-C".

I had the 22 over to Lake Pend Oreille two years ago to visit my buddy cliff. he has a house there. It was a wonderful sunny day on the water. laying on our backs looking up the cliffs at white mountain goats looking down at us.
