Well, I have now become the latest C-Brat to make the progression from 16 to 19 to 22. I have no regrets however, each boat was appropriate at the time we purchased it, based on family size, garage space, and budget. I also didn't go looking for a 22, it came looking for me! It was more like a gift than a purchase, in all honesty. Many thanks to Doug for making this wonderful opportunity a reality for us.

The latest and greatest is a 2007 22 cruiser, with the dual E-tec 50 hp outboards and 87 hours on everything. Neither motor has a permatrim foil on it, do people tend to run these on 22's and/or on dual motors?

I will be listing my 19 Angler for sale, and pictures will follow soon. I have learned so much by owning the 16 and the 19, including lots about trailers, carburetors, etc. Many thanks as always to this list, for all the collective wisdom.

Well Ben, if the 19 was "Crush" maybe the 22 will be "Stretch". Congratulations on the new boat (and freeing up a rare 19). See you on the water.

I'll look into permatrims. My 16 and 19 both had them; 19 had trim tabs too and I loved them. New 22 has tabs as well.

We put about 500 hours on the first two boats, so I'm sure the 22 will be well-loved also!

Ben, Congrats on the new to you 22. You will not be disappointed. And CONGRATS on getting a boat with TWINS. Good choice. (IMHO). Wow, I thought you bought a tin can or something. Hope to get to cross wakes at some point along the way.

1st off congratulations on the new boat.
After getting a 22 cruiser with 90 HP Honda, I was not satisfied with the boat's trim. It made me nuts that the minor weight differences on either side of the boat caused a list and the bow attitude was way to high, without over trimming the outboard.
I purchased Lenco trim tabs was much more satisfied that I could trim for a port or starboard list, but I was still putting the tabs too far down to get the nose down. Finally, I bit the bullet and installed a Permatrim. The combination was a success. I now use only minor trim on the trim tabs for list (due to wind or weight differences) and the engine is only trimmed down about 1/2 way down from the previous setting.
After spending years on ships and constantly shifting fluids to keep the vessel on an even keel, I'm just a little nutty about things like this.
 
Thanks Steve and everyone. I will probably add permatrims and then have the same combination I'm used to. I also really like to be able to drop the bow into heavy seas.

Spent Friday and Saturday on the water, caught lots of shrimp, and just really enjoyed the new ride. The twin e-tecs are quite confident, and really move this boat along nicely.
