transom weight confusion

I'm confused. I'm considering a C-Dory 22 Cruiser. It has twin Yamaha 50's. The total weight on the transom would appear to be above the owner's manual stated maximum of 500lbs (motors and fuel). With 25 gallons of fuel I'm figuring about 625 lbs. Am I being paranoid or is this a ligitimate concern?

Assuming you're talking about four stroke Yamahas the weight would very close to a Honda 90 with a Honda 9.9 kicker or a little more than twin Honda 40's. Both combos are popular with C-Dory 22 owners. IMO should be OK.
 
The two Yahama 50's would be 474 lbs. That would be fine. The gas weight is not conted in the transom weight. 50 gallons of gas would be about 330 lbs give or take. Again not a problem.
 
My CD22 has a Suzuki DF115 @ 416lbs and a DF9.9 @ 107lbs, Plus the 50 Gallons of gas. The boat does sit a little deeper in the water than most of the pictures I have seen, but it runs very nice and handles well.
 
Thanks for clearing my confusion. Instead of paranoid maybe idiot would have been a better self description. After closer inspeciton of the owners manual it says maximum transom weight (motors and batteries) not (motors and fuel). It does seem that several of you are pushing the envelope a bit with 115 Suzuki's and kickers and batteries but apparently without sacrificing ride or worse yet risking transom cracks?
 
The Suzuki DF90 and the DF115 are the same motor and weight and I believe that the Yamaha 115 weighs less. My boat is mostly used at altitudes of 3000 to 6000 feet. The 115 was bought to compensate for that. The factory said that there wouldn't be a problem and that they just haven't changed there spec. I do have both trim tabs and permatrim on my CD.
