Trip to Nashville

We departed on Adventure from Gulf Breeze, FL near Pensacola on August 18th. There is no sign of oil in the ICW. Almost all oil booms are gone. There are some work boats in Mobile Bay at anchor. We are now ( 8/29) in Columbus, MS. Have had no problems-- Catfish at Bobby's was great. Planning to tour Columbus next several days.
 
We have now finished the Tenn-Tom. We are at the Aqua Marina and plan to stay until Sunday. Planning to be at Green Turtle Bay Sept. 10 -14 on the Cumberland. Things are going great: good food, soft bed, great companion, engine runs, boat floats. No problem with the C-dory. Excellent river boat.
 
Roughly what has been your rate of fuel consumption per mile and what RPM are you averaging.

I just had Marc replace my old 100 gal. gas tank with a 75 gal. capacity and I'm trying to figure how far I can go between gas pumps.
 
I run at 3200 rpm. 175 Suzuki. It gives me 12-14 mph. Our fuel use depends on fuel weight, river current and lock wait times. We are heavy with food and clothes for 3 + months. I use 60% trim tabs and engine trimmed down just above full down. We have a lot of weight in back especially with a 100 fuel and kicker + storage box and generator.We have been getting just a little over 2mpg. I still use 2 miles for planning. If you plan any long trips you will want that 100 gallons tank. On the Tenn-Tom it is 126 to 136 miles for fuel from Mobile to first gas stop. Why did you having the 100 removed for a 75?? I will do a check tomorrow. We left Aqua Marina full and will not get gas again until 100.55 miles at Cuba Landing. I will let you know how much we needed.
 
I thought we had the same engine.

I remember now you have the 175.

We should get just enough more mileage to justify the lighter load with our 150.

We'll see when somebody is towing us to the next gas.

Oh, and tell Jo Ann I said Roll Tide and I guess it's ok the Vols won one.
 
We just pulled into Pebble Beach Marina. New Johnsonville, TN (TN mm 96.0)-- 120 miles from Aqua Marina in MS. Purchased 49.176 gallons for 120.13 miles. Looks like 2.44 mpg. Of your 75 gallons I would only figure on usable 70 gallons at most. It depends on pickups in tank.
 
The second "Roll" is optional, generally saved for kickoffs and post game celebrations. Only one "Roll" is necessary in everyday communication. Much akin to the "Hey" at the end of "War Eagle," not acceptable except at game time.

I'm guessing your 2.44 mpg might be a little lower than you'd get if you weren't going "uphill" against the river currents, but I'm not familiar with that area of the country and the river current velocities there!

There is not much current maybe 1-1.5k and little more near outlet of power plants.. The Tennessee River has lots of dams. We are currently in Ky lake. Ky Dam is up by the Ohio River and Pickwick Dam is south of us. We are going with the current- north. We are currently at Paris Landing State Park in Tennessee. Only about 200 miles to Nashville.

Getting back to Clarksville now from Auburn football weekend. Will set out to the camp ground to check out Pat and Linda.....then drift towards MJ to the boathouse and check in with Brother Mike, The Brigners, and others... to see just what type of adventure we can get into.

We are now at the Gallatin Marina, TN with a new oil change. Thanks to Byrdman and Jeff Brigner for their suggestion of The Boathouse-- Alan did a great job. We are planning to hang out here for a few days then maybe go east or go back to Creekwood Marina for a few days and then 1 Oct start back south. Thanks for the help- great c-dory group.
 
Carl and Jo Ann: Glad you got your service work done. My Mom's home and my boat is pretty much directly cross the river from you. As you depart the cove that Gallitin Marina is in....look down river towards the power line towers. The two white houses, cross river from you, just up river side from the power lines are our docks. Right now, after talking with Brother Mike... we plan to be on the water around 9-10am...and spend the day putting bubbles in the water and high pressure stuff like that. I will take down your cell number and give a shout once we are on the water. Brigners may be driving back down to TN from OH... Will call him tonight and get his status. Pat and Linda are also in the area...so, we may be building up to a 4pm ish dinner at Cherrokee Marina.... Later...

keep us in the loop regarding dinner friday early evening. linda and i drove over the 109 bridge today, so we know where the cherokee marina is or where it probably is. any time is good but a heads up on time would be great. we are scheduled to work out at urban active in madison, sometime tomorrow.
