I think we all know about B.O.A.T., bring on another thousand items, so I thought this would be a good topic for the cheap things that work really cool.

After cracking my melon for the third time this year on the top of my door frame, it finally came to me how I resolved that problem with my first Angler. I purchased a small section of pipe insulation (round foam) and cut it the width of the door frame. Open the cut side of the foam tube and slip it over the metal/wood frame, it fits like it was made for it and all for about .80 cents.

I have found rolled up charts can be kind of a pain to safely locate out of the way. I got some plexiglas from a glass shop, remnants from an installation for free, and made some chart retainers that fit above the windows. Pictures are available in Sunset Ride photo album.

OK, so not quite under a buck... but it's close. I decided that my charts needed a better home than just laying across the dash. (And I didn't happen to have any plexiglass laying around either...) So while I was mindlessly wandering through Home Depot, I came across these little broom holders for about $2.58 for the pair. They seemed to be about the right size to hold the charts. So I screwed 'em on right next to the motor controls. I think they'll work great. The pics are here.

Hi Folks,

About charts, I fold them and put them under the bunks. I mark the big one's with the chart number. When I am out, I put them on the table with an elastic around the table to hold them. I am looking for clips.

For my rubbish, I picked up a cloth tube at Christmas Shop Cheep. It has elastic on the bottom and top and a loop for hanging. I fill it with Supermarket Plastic Bags during the winter. Hang on bag until it is full. Everytime I leave the boat, I take the full bags with me. Keeps the boat neat.
