On more than one occasion, I have been asked where I was from due to my accent. I have never seen it put any better than this lady as she speaks to Bill Cosby about the subject. Take 3 minutes and enjoy a great laugh, do a bit of travel, and never leave your chair!!

Thanks for the link Pat. Today I learned that North, South Carolina is southeast of Due West South Carolina - important info should I ever find myself in one with a need to get to the other. I also learned that Eartha Kitt, was born in North, SC. Prior to today, I thought Smackass Gap, NC was the most interesting locale in that part of the country. As an aside, my relatives on my dad's side live near Smackass Gap, NC.
 
if you find your self in South Carolina there is only one direction to go, out and fast.

Not in the Baptist bible belt young man! It's a gap in the mountains. Rumor has it that the reason it's called Smack Ass Gap is because years ago when the mules and horses had to pull wagons on the mountain roads, the driver had to smack them on the ass to get them to pull up the rise and across the gap.

That link just gave me a short flashback to childhood days of listening to the records on rainy days and we always enjoyed Bill Cosbey. The ones with the snow ball fights still bring tears of laughter to my eyes. Glad yall enjoyed and I could not keep that one to myself.

My co-workers are from West Virginia, North Carolina and Louisiana. This almost makes them seem "normal" to Yankee Transplant like me!
