Flotilla 73, Division 3??

Just joined three months ago and currently in Crew training. Will be QE'd April 26th. 22' Campion is being facilitated. Spent $500 for tow ropes and various essentials, including uniforms. Approval expected in two weeks. Hope to be a Coxwain by year's end. Wife has joined but will likely be crew qualified next year. We look forward to joint patrols. It'll be the first time I've outranked her.

I'm loving most of it. Last Saturday was the exception when I attended the 8 hr. TCT class at Port Ludlow. It was 60 degrees that day. I soooo wanted to be on the pond instead of a classroom.

You all get a salute from the SleepyC crew. Maybe some day when I grow up and get retired, I can join. It is a great service. :thup Thankyou!!!

This seems like a good place to seek help from any Coast Guard type?? We just bought a new CD 25 Cruiser and plan on spending a bunch of time in Valdez and thought it may be a good idea to get the Coast Guard to do a "pre-launch" inspection. Do any of you know who I may contact to get this done??? I did get boarded by the Coast Guard a few years ago, while fishing Valdez, and the guys inspected my boat and it was real helpful. Just thought it would be good to get the "seal of approval" prior to the season just to make sure I have everything that is required.

We welcome ideas!!!!

Don, go to SAFETY SEAL

Click on I want a VSC (Vessel Safety Check) you will get a window that you can input your zip code and find out who is in your area that can do a VSC. These are done by the Power Squadron and the USCG Aux.

Why would anyone be embarrassed to say they were in the USCG Aux?? Great comraderie, wonderful training opportunities, and more fun on the water. Often times paid for by the Government.

David,

You must be running slow due to those warm, flower scented breezes!!

I sit here with the left over snow and ice from the last two days!!

Can anyone point me to a web site that explains what all these titles and acronyms mean, and what training or qualifications are required to hold these positions?

Also what equipment is required for a boat to be an operational facility?

Thanks,

Dace and Kathy Church, 13th District, Flotilla 12, Imediate Past Division Captain, BQ, CR, AV, VE, and IT.

Boat is a new CD 25 still being outfitted that will be called C-Cruiser.
