After looking a bit I decided to get the usb720 card and just use the notebook I have for now. Works good so far.

If I cancel my dsl service I will need to get a web based email service. Are there any major differences between Gmail, hotmail, or any of the others? Do you have a service that you would recommend?

Gmail seems to have the most feature-rich environment. Good spam filter, good organizational model, etc.

I would go with Gmail unless someone can provide some details of why they think the others are better.

I'll second gmail. I have been using juno ever since they came out but just switched to gmail. It is much faster and great spam filter. I added their gadget thing to my computer and it lets me know when a new email comes in.
