Vertical Sliding Window/ Door/ Round two

I checked with DSG today and they said that they could supply bolts; he implied they usually were supplied (were they last time, John?) but I was talking to someone different today and he didn't seem as knowledgeable as Kim, whom I first talked with. Anyhow, I would appreciate a picture of the bolts with a ruler next to the head for perspective and what the bolt length is ; best to probably get both ends of the bolt. My boat is in unavailable storage now so I can't get the pictures. Who can do this and email me copies @ <jbgreen45@charter.net> This will help DSG get a best match for us.
Mark come on up for a visit and to pick up your window; they ice may be out by then. I lived in Cadillac for 3 years back in the early 80's and enjoyed the area.

Forget pictures of both ends of the bolts; a senior moment, I was thinking the windows are through bolted but my mind now tells me they are not. Sure would be handy to have the boat handy. So who will do a picture of the head end of the bolts? Jay

I'll shoot pics tonight. I can get the head size based on the number of the square
drive screw driver that fits (I know I have one), head size and door thickness.

The other thing that comes to mind is that many people seem to have aluminumn
colored frames, but mine are whitish, as is the exterior. What color do they
ship? Also my screw heads are whitish in color.

There were four stainless sheet metal screws supplied last time with our order; just enough to hold the frame together in shipping. The deal is that you reuse the screws that hold the original window in place. I broke one off, and have a short supply because I removed some and replaced with snap studs. I believe they are 3/4" long.

Mike thanks in advance for taking the picture and getting the head size. I'll be checking with each orderee if they want al or CD white finish before I order and will check with DSG if plain and coated heads are available for an appropriate frame finish match.

Mike, thanks for the pictures and other details. I am out of town in a few minutes and have not resolved my alternate plan but will resolve it or drop it Monday when I return and will post the dollar range then. The price varies due to the number of people splitting the shipping, etc. Final price will be about $320 and cut off will be Wednesday 0800 GMT(UCT) (1200 EDST); then I will post the final dollars due that afternoon and you can get checks in the mail.

Last summer Sweet Pea got a group together that ordered six cabin door windows that opened and were screened. Go to this thread to get the details.http://www.c-brats.com/viewtopic.ph...t needs to be checked too. Jay

I am in for 1 any color & I will find screws. Let me know!!

Cost will be $300/window if 6 are ordered and $295/window if 12 are ordered plus UPS charges from my house to yours. Lets just have everyone send me $300 checks and I will adjust the UPS cost for any adjustments in the DSG charges. Also DSG has only estimated the shipping cost from the factory to my house, so that may also slightly affect the final price. Make checks payable to J.B. Green, Jr. and mail to 4012 Portage Cove Dr., Houghton, MI 49931, USA. Please post, PM, or email me that you want to be included. I prefer to wait until all the checks arrive before ordering and would like to order by this Friday. Right now I believe the following want to be included: Jon&Patty;CaptMae;NotForHire;C-Batical;TrueStory;C-Weed;tsturn;and C-Green. All the foregoing are for white windows except tsturn who will take either white or aluminum. Please specify white or aluminum finish.

I will send you a check for $300 tomorrow morning for one white window for a 22' cruiser. Thanks for all the work you are doing for us!!

I got my window on the first go around and am very pleased.

Here's a thought you could pass on to the factory rep - would they consider making a few extra on spec? They could sell them for say $400 retail, since we paid $300 wholesale. Maybe there are some dealers who would retrofit the old door with this window if it were "on the shelf" at the factory?

My guess is there will be some folks who, in the heat of summer and in the fly season, will wish they had signed up.

Phil

Thanks for doing this. I will take one in aluminum finish with a few extra screws if they can include them. I will try to get a check in today's mail.
