Video--Hunkydory in the Yukon & Alaska

These videos of our first Alaska trip with our C-Dory, I first put on YouTube, but the quality was so bad I then uploaded them to a higher quality site, that I had to pay $100 a year for 250 minutes of video access storage. Due to the cost, I dropped the storage & that has made these videos & our 2004 Alaska cruise videos un viewable. These are links to the original YouTube postings of this quite extraordinary cruise for two very inexperienced boaters, though the video clarity quality remains a distraction for me. We now wonder just what made us think we were capable of making such a trip & marvel at its success.

It's funny you mention your inexperience. The whole time I'm watching the videos I'm thinking, "This couple really knows what they're doing." I love adventure and that was impressive!

It's been eight years since I originally posted this video + three more on top of that when we made the trip, so as I stated at the start of this thread we were very inexperienced with a boat the size of a CD22 for this kind of adventure. Even now with our being very experienced with our boat, running the CD 22 on the river where we went in this video is something we would probably be more hesitate to do now than then, especially with the time restraints involved at that point of the trip. As the saying goes "sometimes ignorance is bliss", but as a cautionary note to others who may be at the place we were then & considering such an adventure, the success was not all luck. Even though our experience with a boat the size of a CD22 was almost non existent, we had a lifetime of doing things together, years of experience on rivers & lakes with canoe & rib & me many years experience in solo high risk wilderness endeavors. Being very high energy at that time we packed into 28 days more than many will do in years or ever.
