I wasn't sure where to post this. In my photo album is a picture called Wallas Control Guard. I bought a door handle at the hardware store and mounted it as a curved guard in front of the Wallas control knob and switch.
Now no one can bump up against it in rough seas or drag a coat across it or whatever.
You reach over the top with a finger to turn on the stove, and under the bottom with a thumb to turn it off. Easy and secure. Turning the control knob is easy, too.
Pretty much no chance of the controls being damaged now. I used to worry about that.
